the scariest things in movies when I was a kid was large marge and that german guy from indiana jones turning into a skeleton
Boomers were afraid of this
It was a metaphor for miscegenation, the monster represented ugly foreigners who would try to steal our women.
And now that our society has degenerated, we see the trope being inverted. In the Shape of Water the monster is sympathetic and instead of running away the woman willingly fucks stinky fishman because modern women are whores.
It was a cautionary tale, and we didn't listen.
I saw the exorcist on DVD soon after it got re-released in 2000. I was in 3rd grade and going to Sunday school at the time. It shocked me so much I stopped going to Sunday school, and thus never got my first communion, because I the whole god vs Satan thing was too much for me. It really confused my catholic side.
>people today are desensitized that they're not frightened by this
honestly it's sad
people today watch the most gruesome and perverted acts of violence before hitting puberty even
Zoomers thought this was romantic and gave it an Oscar.
boomer kino was comfy and fun
zoomer kino is annoying and stupid
>creature from the bbc lagoon
the creature was a fill in for blacks and interracial marriage
lmao i watched the exorcist when i was like 11 after hearing about how it was the scariest movie ever. i liked the movie but you have to be one massive twat to actually get frightened by it
You're afraid of women.
