I watch them with my eyes.

If i invest myself everything becomes bland and boring so i watch the most pleb capeshit to keep myself entertained

JOSE CONSECO BITCH

By myself I watch it intently, with roommates we usually rip on it.

I watch them without distractions. No cellphone or internet and preferably on my own. I always watch them passively, I just let it wash over me.

The problem is that most mainstream movies have so much exposition and retarded flaws that you are pulled out of the movie in a very jarringly way.

>How do you guys watch a film?
Well you have to be in the mood to watch a movie first. Because putting it on the DVD player takes effort so you choose the movie you want to see. For the scenes or if it can still holds up even though you saw it already. You can put a movie you don’t care about or really like a lot just because; while you do things like eat or clean the house. Those types of movies you typically don’t care about because you want to have something on in the background.
> is it like a passive activity where you mindlessly consume it as just a product
The only way You see a movie in a passive or mindless sense is if it is a movie you never seen before or a new on in the theaters. Typically these types of movies are new so you allow it to wash over you and let it happen. Every time a cliche or shit you seen before scene or repetitive generic music cue happens, you degrade the film down to a “mysterious-potentially-kino Art piece,” to just another generic bullshit some retard wrote to take money from you. From then on you begin to look at the movie to a lesser extent and focus on eating your popcorn with the nacho cheese. You just watch the movie as just another piece of shit movie, and wait till it ends. Seeing how it can subvert your expectations with the ending. If it does not undergo cliches or it begins to do things you never seen before, you begin to let the movie grab you by the hand, and you hope you feel something by the end of the movie.
> or do you view it through the perspective of a critic?
It depends if you are in the mood to look at it as a “critic.” Sometimes you’re just too tired and want to put up a piece of shit movie to see how people put so much money, time, and effort to produce a steaming pile of shit. Other times you put a movie ready to tear it to fucking shreds from frame one.

dont try too hard to overanalyze, just enjoy the movie
then after the movie is when I take time to think about it. if its a particularly deep or enjoyable movie then I'll rewatch it with a more critical eye
