>Was the "Bush is dumb lol" era any different from "Orange man bad"?
it was very very different, bush is dumb lol wasn't constant for a start, there was good a while after 9/11 out of fear and blind patriotism the government/bush got a bit of a free pass from a lot of media outlets, if you said anything against them you were being unamerican letting the terrorists win blablahorseshit.
but even when he did say something obviously dumb it was a speech or a press event, he didn't have twitter like trump so it wasn't a constant stream of him saying shit every day and people sperging about it 24/7, social media and the news networks going full clickbait over the last 10-15 years has changed things massively.
Other than Trevor Noah having the charisma of a dead fish...
I feel bad for Noah. He is out of his league. Those were big shows to fill. And the scene as gone to shit. I can't stand even Cobert now and I didn't even vote for Trump.
The Bush era was different. The comedy scene was different. Things seemed less polarized, less crazy.
It was a great day for America everybody.
The CBS exsecutives were too hot and bothered by him.
Balls.
I think it was almost as bad, but with Trump there's a hatred and fear. There wasn't an episode on a talk show where Bush wasn't made fun of, and they truly didn't like him or Republicans. Bush is in better favor now with the establishment and I think we're looking back with tinted glasses.
I keep saying Colbert has become the very thing he used to parody. He is now the Dem version of people like Glenn Beck.
>allow for me to tell you about your government my fellow americans
>aaaaaaackshually im not even american
fuck this guy
Bush didn't do something big and stupid every single day.
god, i had the biggest hardon for beth
rip craig, greatest late night show of all time
