Why are they doing this to our franchises bros...

Not only did they make the Doctor a white woman, they retconned the real first Doctor as having been a little black girl who was experimented on by an old white woman for her regeneration powers.

Based women ruining everything

Brought to you by capitalism.
Why risk money by making something original when you can reboot. PC coersion now substitutes quality and artistic integrity.

based

Women aren't loyal to sci-fi. I can't wait for these companies to realize this.

Has less to do with the characters themselves and more to do with it being a forced political agenda. Fans, especially of established franchises, just want what they expect with maybe a little new twist to keep it from being entirely old hat. And having a female lead when it's been traditionally male can be just that. You just don't need to shove the feminist narrative down people's throats at the same time.

Fans don't want a lecture on how the stories they know and love and their fandom have forever been perpetuating the patriarchy or whatever.

I cant wait for zoomers to fix cinema...

New Star Trek series have always been hated before later being accepted
Doctor Who has always been bad in its own special way
Only Star Wars was ruined

maybe they'll make something original after crashing all these franchises

Sci-fi nerds are all simps who traded their values and stories for a little bit of coochie.

What?
Timelords regenerate regularly. What's so special about The Doctor's regeneration?

JEWS HATE US

Gallifreyans couldn't regenerate at first. One of their female explorers found a little black girl who could regenerate and took her back to Gallifrey and killed her over and over to gain her power. The Doctor is why Timelords can regenerate.

It's as retarded as it sounds, thanks Chibnall.

Never watched Discovery. The actress has a face that pisses me off though. Any explain the specifics of what makes this Michael character dogshit (or which I have no doubt she actually is)?

Funny how some soi fag would screech sexism at me yet when I ended up watching Voyager recently I actually enjoyed Janeway as captain immediately. These shows have declined horrible in so many facets including the female writing, albeit they are forcibly shoved into the front and centre in their efforts to pander so it is by far the most noticeable aspect.

NOOOO NOT THE HECKIN MANBABY CARTOONS!! MY JEW MONEYPRINTING CGI FESTERINOS!! HOW CAN THIS BE HAPPENING??

Women following in the footsteps of men. Men paved the way, women just copied. Nothing original here - women are not successful in their own right, they have to assume the roles of men in order to be accepted. Bravo feminism.

The Doctor is the "timeless child" a proto-timelord that the first gallifreyan astronaut (explored space single-handedly, female) found on her travels. when the kid played with another gallifreyan kid it fell down a cliff and died. the explorator woman then experimented on the kid so long that she achieved regeneration for all timelords. Then the kids brain was erased multiple times, the last time when regenerating to the first Doctor and thus "the" Doctor was born. I'm not joking... this is the new canon.

hahahahaha
That can't be fucking real.

>one vid later

OMG
HAHAHAHA

*the kid died and regenerated

>Burnham
>One sub par character in a generally pretty good show
>And Picard exist
>"Killed franchise"

To be fair, Star Trek had been dead for decades.

The fat middle age black lady dressed up like a flamboyant Napoleon honestly looks like a human slug to me. Not even a race thing or knocking her for being black. She simply does look like she's got slug blood in her.

As someone who doesn't 'hate' the Michael Burnham character as a concept, I still think they approached her character all wrong. If they were going to give her a stiff or super serious persona they also needed to give her a consistent foil and NOT also make her the action hero constantly saving the day and addressing major lore characters like the world revolves around her.

A character like Michael needs to have pathos and baggage, but not where she's constantly tortured all the time by her past. If anything, that should be buried deep underneath to where we don't even notice it unless we really pick up on the cues. As the show goes on we find out more about her, but her initial introduction should've been a by-the-book officer who's always so obsessed with the rules that other characters find her rigid and unlikable. THEN you can have stories exploring her past and showing the viewer why she's such a stickler for the rules, revealing what happened the last time she defied orders and how it blew up in her face.

They could've really gone places by just making her an uncompromising martial stiff that occasionally surprises the crew with how her comprehensive knowledge about regulations or procedure actually comes in handy in dire situations, thereby reminding us why Starfleet regulations exist. This is simple stuff, people.

>Zoomers: Another WW2 movie? BORING! How about one where nazis are the good guys?

Attached: 1568541913692.jpg (785x1000, 252.43K)

So basically, they set this very strict rule that Timelords can only regenerate 12 times, then by plot logic, the Timelords of the past give The Doctor more regenerations so the show can continue, only to even further down the line rewrite the show so that The Doctor could actually regenerate an infinite amount of times. Oh and The Doctor also isn't originally from Gallifrey.
What garbage writers are the bbc hiring? My god

Michael in Discovery was such a hilarious character, she caused the issues that put her in trouble and then she solves them herself.
Every god damn episode she causes a problem to escalate and then she herself solves it.
Discovery wouldn't even be that bad if it was an actual trek show about an ensamble cast instead of "Michael's fucks up and fixes shit the show"

>enjoyed Janeway as captain immediately
Hope you enjoyed her ironically because she was a terrible captain.

I don't get it, I have made a woman cum before. It's not difficult

>And having a female lead when it's been traditionally male can be just that.

Attached: 1561028994600.png (274x290, 9.44K)

she was probably faking it

>Rey who?
>Reyping your butt!
>Old lady gets brutally, bloodily sodomised by the lightsaber handle as Rey masturbates
>She ignites the lightsaber and kills the old crone after cumming
Okay, that was a based ending JJ.

Just another example of how quotas for race, sex, etc do not lead to the best outcomes. If you have to "Make X but about strong women." You're already compromising the vision.

Just make a good, original sci fi with some stronk female poc's and people will go for it.

>repeated and sustained child abuse perpetuated by a white woman

'Sup, Yas Forums?

but she show is great!
editorially!

don't you get it?

WHO NEEDS WATCHERS!

Burnham is the main character of STD , everything is about her, if she's a bad character it's a bad show.

So I've heard, and I already watched the Prime Factors episode with the Sikarians where muh prime directive keeps them stuck in the Delta Quadrant for years on end. So she probably deserves to get meme'd a bit like Picard and other TNG cast do but the point is actually found her likeable enough. Probably largely due to Mulgrew as an actor.

Yeah but normies and journalists liked to pretend Jar Jar Abrams "saved" Star Trek with his awful movies, until it wasn't cool to like those turds anymore

>Killed off
I kinda doubt it. First off I doubt the premise that these franchises are really dead. Secondly, the fact is these franchises were mostly zombies at this stage anyway, and the use of female protagonists as a gimmick to try and breathe life into them shows they were on life support anyway.

and the second one doubled down with now-now politics that don't make sense to anyone who has watched a single series of star trek (unless you count STD)

its bad writing from this shows established universe, is senseless and man if you enjoy it, more power to you, congratulations to your tard wranglers to keep you occupied.

Unless the role specifically calls for a male, I've got no problem with telling the story from a woman's perspective so long as it's still good.

It was a missed opportunity all around. Imagine if they really took her Vulcan upbringing seriously (under a different family from Spock's) to the point where she almost never showed any emotion and was instead the paragon of a Starfleet hardass. Knowing weapons and tactics inside and out, maybe believing in the Federation as a governing idea but not really caring about the more humanitarian side of it, worried it's too weak or naive to confront the dangers of the universe.

Her dedication to Starfleet would be absolute though and you'd always want her on your fire team or commanding a ship in the heat of battle or sitting at the table during negotiations. The crew appreciates her on a professional level but doesn't invite her to parties or sit with her in the mess hall. She's not the protagonist and if anything she's a really lonely character. At most she has the Captain as a friend because that's the only one who understands her value in full. Imagine if that was her character.

All while keeping her original hairdo from the pilot episodes.

tardy the tard

Not to mention how mean spirited Picard is. The intro of one episode may have well have been directed by some understudy of Eli Roth for God's sake.

This is honestly their mentality it would seem. The BBC doesn't care about viewers or ratings simply because it's writers pat themselves on the back.
I stopped watching Doctor Who right at the end of Matt Smith's run when they decided that the companions to The Doctor were way more interesting than The Doctor himself. So I gave up, it was retarded and I couldn't bring myself to watch the shit anymore.

That being said, I haven't watch STD, and I've only watched the first 3 episodes of Picard. Star Trek is fundamentally dead.
Star Fleet is no longer Star Fleet and the creators of the shows clearly have a hatered for Gene Roddenbury and his contribution to sci-fi culture and influencing real people to go into the scientific fields.

Disney Star Wars was dead on arrival with Ep.7.
Rogue One and Solo were okay since they didn't shit all over pre-exsisting characters or lore, they were just okay movies.

bullshit. this whole myth that women don't cum or that it takes some kind of special skill to satisfy a woman sexually is bullshit peddled by hollywood for cheap sitcom laughs

This isnt on women, star wars and trek had shit writing and they didnt underatand the tone of the originals and just made generic scifi schlock. They only painted as women great to protect themselves from backlash which failed.

Not according to writer/producer Chris Chinballs

I still find it odd how since the 2005 revival they never had one of the Doctors have only a male companion for one season. It could have changed the dynamic especially if the guy was some ex military individual and both had rampant egos. For like a season they could have experimented with something a double act rather than the Doctor and his sidekick.

star wars and trek died a long long time ago, and doctor who has always been shit. imagine pretending they just died yesterday because women make you seethe.

Make franchise yourself for once

making a woman cum is for losers. Real men don’t give a shit if she cums because nothing of value is created or lost, she just squirts. Whereas a man can impregnate a woman if he cums, it’s more meaningful and also takes less time

>mean spirited
Awww diddums.

Well she's receiving a fat paycheck and the consequences for halting the filming and shit on her account would be considerable and a stain on her reputatiion and career.

An argument between these 3 would be priceless

I agree. I think that Doctor Who would be a much better series if The Doctor was actually written in an intelligent way, and picked companions that actually brought something to the table instead of just "Here's The Doctor's new female companion who will steer him in the proper moral direction because he clearly hasn't been around long enough to know what's a good idea and what's a bad idea. Also, she saves the universe somehow because all Earth females, especially ones from London are integral to the survival of the universe as a whole."
