You don't get an annulment if she cheats, at least you're not supposed to get one according to canon law. Annulments are granted for pre-existing conditions that would have inhibited the marriage, not acts committed after the wedding.

Good meme, not really true though. There's a current bit of Russian interference where they're trying to play politics, but they can't really do much of anything aside from bitch and moan about the others.
Plus being in communion with one another doesn't require perfect agreement; hell, the Eastern Catholics don't even seem to like Roman Catholics half the time, but they're in communion with one another.

It's incredibly nuanced and the fact that annulments are being used for things like that demonstrates clearly that the RCC's rigidness and sense of solid morality are little more than a farce and in actuality they're more like the East with economy than they'd like to pretend. What? it's the Orthodox who pride themselves on being rigid and adhering to tradition in comparison to the innovations of the Catholic Church, not vice versa. I'm also not saying that annulments are granted willy-nilly, just that adultery is a legitimate reason for one if the issue is systemic and cannot be resolved.
How so? some people might be put off by its liturgical innovations but it's not like they did away with the Roman Rite altogether and Ecumenism is a step on the right direction and doesn't contradict any of the church's core tenets whatsoever.

The Orthodox like to pretend that they don't change at all, but this isn't about an unbending continuation with the past, more about a rigid morality. Orthodoxy says "Well, you can break this rule if you need to, we will focus on the other issues for now and not even think about X issue, please, take Communion" whereas Roman Catholicism is generally more legalistic. Orthodoxy views sin as a disease and treats what it can when it can, Roman Catholicism tends to treat sin as a law and no infractions are allowed. Note the phrasing in tends to; this is more a complaint against certain kinds of Catholics, especially tradcaths, because actually lived out Catholicism is a bit closer to Orthodoxy (in some ways). Lived out Catholicism doesn't tend to focus on certain details like that, the farce statement was also more about how the RCC likes to present itself in some documentation, although I'll admit that Orthodoxy does the same, but to a lesser degree.
