Non-meme answer: I think it happened but it's gay how the trauma is turned into a political trump card to bully us into submission when it wasn't even the Republic who carried out the genocide in the first place (it was the Ottoman gov't which the Republic was fighting against). Anyway, I don't think we should be paying for something that happened 100 years ago for something that hasn't even got anything to do with us.
