Yeah, All one can do in this situation is.. to do the right thing. She can't say her career will stop her from having children because there is paid leave and also your parents that will be glad to take care of the children while you both are working. and try to get 3 kids then let others after the last kid is about to finish elementary so you have helping hands.

Females have evolved to take care of their offspring. That's a fact.
Not pursuing the care of babies is a cultural artifact. Some of those artifacts (eg. becoming a nun) are distractions good enough to not cause a dissonance with the biological urges.
Others, like the various forms of hedonism ("enjoying life") modern culture promotes, only lead to existential dread.
A sane society should aim to promote young women having kids. The outcasts should be ignored.

We haven't evolved to have our diets primarily composed of grains. Everyone eats grains. Evolution doesn't apply to our species anymore, with advent of modern medicine, agriculture and civilisation we have eradicated it's primary mechanisms.
