What's there to cope with, retard? I've lived abroad, the fact that you're surrounded by the language isn't as effective as having a private tutor. Otherwise China wouldn't be full of laowai that have no knowledge of Chinese.

You aren't supposed to learn from Duolingo. You use it to practice.
what he said, i learned all my grammar from french textbooks. i use duolingo for rapidly learning new words and sentences and lurking in /fr/
Immersion means either living in the country (or participating in a camp where only the target language is used) or using the target language as medium of instruction. Reading/listening your target language is indeed very important but that's not what immersion is.

Each time I struggle at first but after I warm up it's better. I'd probably have to live abroad to improve it significantly and become fluent, preferably in some anglo country to try to lose this hideous accent and pick up a better one
