reading or podcasts? Which is better practice?
(obviously both are good)

> أانهاردة ألصبح كنت قاعد بشرب القهوة بتاعتي و بتفرج على الأخبار, و انا قاعد سمعت كلبتي بتهاوهاو على باب الجنينة.
On Tuesday, I was sitting drinking my coffee and watching the news, while I was sitting, I heard my dog bellowing at the door of El Geneina.
جاي أفتحلها ألباب لاقيتها ماسكة حمامة في بوقها فزعئتلها عشان ترميها على الأرض. بعد ما ْاتئكدت انها ميتة نزلت دفنتها في الجنينة.
Jay deceived her into the doors, caught a dove in her trumpet, and shook her to throw her on the ground.
كلبة غبية, بس هي بتتصرف حسب غريزتها, ماقدرش اتعصب عليها حتى لو زعلان على الحمامة.
A stupid dog, but she behaves according to her instinct, you can not be fanatic about her even if they are mad on the dove

Thank you Egypt-user, would you say this an accurate translation of what you sent? Is trumpet a synonym for mouth/snout? Also it seems like it didn’t recognize الجنينة as a word.
شكراً جزيلاً مرة بعد مرة، صديقي

I'm learning Chinese, German, and Spanish. I can already read the news in German and Spanish, and my listening comprehension is decent in both of those languages, I think. But I'm at like a beginner level in Mandarin. Lately I've been watching a lot of videos on Mandarin Corner to improve my listening comprehension and learn a lot of vocabulary. Though I think I'm going to wait until I'm conversational in Mandarin before I seriously try to learn the characters.

Should I learn French or Russian? And which is easier to learn? Also how can I improve my French fast?

Which is the most useful dead language?
>hard mode: No latin or ancient greek (koine, homeric)

Attached: E.jpg (964x446, 99.1K)

Depends what you're lacking. For example, reading French is super easy for me because it's really similar to Spanish on it's written form. Listening to French, on the other hand, is quite difficult for me, so I just hear a bunch of French podcasts.

dunno maybe sanskrit or ancient persian

How do you say “There are 69 new cases of covid-19 and 3 more confirmed deaths today” in your target language, Yas Forums?

French because you aren't allowed to learn Russian.

Why do you want to learn either, once you get the answer to this think about the one that gives you the best reason. French is easier when you speak English. Read french books, watch french movies. Current french cinema is shit but we had really great movies before.

Is he Finnish?

"Avec de la motivation "*

"Je vais beaucoup étudier" is more common i think
Quarantaine*
>Vous devez étudier votre langue du désir.
There is no translation for "target language" in french, and in usually there is no translation for this type of expression, example of translation :
"Vous devez étudierLa langue que vous être entrain d'apprendre / que vous avez choisi "
>Nous pouvons atteindre tous les choses [les buts??] que nous voulons.
Les butes/ objectifs is correct :D
Nous voulons or [que] nous nous fixons ( we set for ourselves )
MEDIUM
>Quelquefois choses sont difficiles, mais nous devons encore aller a la avant. [?]
De l'avant *
If the word start with a vowel --> le (or la ) = l'
"à" means you want to go to a place :
Je veux aller à Paris

>Ne pas laisser les gens négatifs te troublent. Ignorez-la.
Ignorez-les * (plurial)
Te troubler *
Tips : if you can replace the verb with "prendre ", it's the infinitive
If you can replace the verb with "pris", it's the past participle.

>Je pensee je commencerai aller à la salle de [bain?] après la [quarantine], je veux être sante.
Salle de bain = bathroom :D
Je veux être EN bonne santé

one question. how would one translate a phrase like
>Selon lui, il n'y en a pas.
if you saw it entirely in isolation. how are you supposed to know what the is referring to?

I think Classical/Literary Chinese due to many reasons but here are a few.
>Oldest language that is still in some use today
>Was used as the main written form of communication in East Asia until the 20th century so you will find much literature to read in it
>There is no phonetic component to it apart from the names so you don't have to learn words
>The "grammar" is very loose, some people say it doesn't actually have a grammar

Vous avez le pouvoir au-dessus de votre l'espirit -- pas d'events [?] de hors. Savez-vous cela, et vous trouverai [strength?]
Esprit * (or mental)
" Vous avez le dessus sur votre.. esprit, pas les
choses/événements extérieurs. Sachez[impératif]-cela, et vous trouverez la force "

one question. how would one translate a phrase like
>Selon lui, il n'y en a pas.
if you saw it entirely in isolation. how are you supposed to know what the is referring to?

The "en" is referring to the C.O.D of the sentence before :

- Marie, est-ce qu'il y a des crayons ?
[ Il y a quoi ? Des crayons --> Des crayons = COD ]
- Non, il n'y EN a plus.

/!\ That's not the only way "en" can be use !!!!

How do I acquire energy to study two languages at the same time ?

How have you found learning Chinese?

You can use gym in french, however if you want to actually speak french, it's " Salle de sport"

i've been learning french by miself for a month now, im using an App and i been praticing whit a french friend, i can kinda read it, but the pronunciation is hard

It is very odd.
Learning the characters isn't very hard but being able to use them is and some sentences can have completely opposite meanings even written with the exact same characters. Some characters even have completely unrelated meanings within the same one!
But the grammar isn't hard since it doesn't use tenses, avoids pronouns and misses out other features so the writing is quicker to read, although you could also argue the opposite since that means you have to do heavy interpretation.
It is a very good language to learn.
I even found myself reading an a Chinese stele inscription by accident and then I was very surprised when I was correct.

How hard has it been? China has such an interesting history and culture. I'd love to be able to access that.

It isn't exactly hard but maybe a lot of work.
It's main difficulty is proper interpretation since it isn't like other languages were the sentences have set meaning.
But if you want to you should learn, it is very good.

How relevant would you say pic related is? I was thinking of trying to do Spanish and trying to learn the characters for Mandarin side-by-side after I'm done with French. Due to the similarities between Spanish and French, I would imagine there'd be a bit of cross over which would make learning it easier and then I can slowly work my way through the Mandarin characters. Not sure if that's actually feasible or not and I realize I might be underestimating how hard taking in the characters is.

Well if you are wanting to learn Modern Chinese then everything I said is of no use to you.
Either choose Modern or Classical not both.
The only benefit Mandarin will give you is more reading material for learning Classical and better quality dictionaries.
This man here puts it much better than I can.

I should have said "Only learn Classical or Mandarin first not both at the same time."

Python
It's not that hard but sintax is hell when you are a super begginer programmer

my wife chino... I WANT TO FUCK CHINO
please chino is so cute my wife chino is so cute chino chan sex chino sex with chino i'd like some more kafuu chino sex with chino kafuu chino my wife cute is so chino wife

Bump

Python is a very poor choice if you're a super beginner programmer, even if that's the main language that you plan to use in your future.
If you absolutely have to go with something terse and trendy, I'd go with Go, but in any other case you should at least read the K&R C book and do the exercises.

I don't really plan to be a programmer or anything just wanted to see what is was all about so I picked up one of the fundamental courses in soft uni and did that.

What I'm reading is that you'll learn Japanese and improve your penmanship at the same time.

A lot of Japanese people have shitty penmanship

Does anyone have a link or torrent for Assimil Brazillian Portuguese for English speakers?

>On Tuesday, I was sitting drinking my coffee and watching the news, while I was sitting, I heard my dog bellowing at the door of El Geneina.
Good one, but there are a couple of mistranslations. "أانهاردة ألصبح" means "this morning" (literally "today morning"). "بتهاوهاو" (lit. she was hawhawing) is onomatopoeic, it's just the sound that a dog makes which is barking not bellowing. Geneina means garden and can mean park, we also call a back or front yard a Geneina.

>جاي أفتحلها ألباب لاقيتها ماسكة حمامة في بوقها فزعئتلها عشان ترميها على الأرض. بعد ما ْاتئكدت انها ميتة نزلت دفنتها في الجنينة
As I was opening the door for her I found her with a dove in her mouth so I shouted at her to throw it on the ground. After I made sure it was dead I buried it in the garden.
جاي = Literally "I'm coming" and in the Egyptian dialect it can mean "as I was coming/ as I was doing.

> كلبة غبية, بس هي بتتصرف حسب غريزتها, ماقدرش اتعصب عليها حتى لو زعلان على الحمامة.
Stupid dog, but she behaves according to her instinct, (I) can not be (angry) (at) her even if (I am) (sad) (for) the dove.

>Is trumpet a synonym for mouth/snout?
Nope, "بق" not "بوق", I can see how you would make that connection but "بق" is just a rarely used (in MSA) synonym for "فم" as far as I know and use it to refer to mouths in general not just dog muzzles.

>Thank you Egypt-user, would you say this an accurate translation of what you sent?
It got the gist of what I sent but there were some inaccuracies, overall great job considering that finding translation resources for dialectal Arabic is pretty hard.
عفواً يا صديقي

Learning both is feasible.

Trying to learn the different meanings of the word "foutre."
