FAQ U: >How do I learn a language? What is the best way to learn one? How should I improve on certain aspects? Read the damn wiki >Should I learn lang Y so I can learn lang X? No >What is the most useful language? Plattdüütsch >What language should I learn? Pashto
Easy : >This is a very beautifull place ! C'est un très beau endroit! >Where do I have to buy the tickets ? Où dois-je acheter les billets? >I play guitar because I love rock. >His coat costs 146,24 € (write the number !) Son manteau coûte cent quarante-six virgule vingt-quatre euros. Medium : >I focus on writing skills because I mostly learn a language to be able to read books in this language. >"You're an honest man, sir!", this is not a virtue but a duty, sir.
Jordan Martin
Since I cant make a thread because my IP is rangebanned from posting pictures I'm gonna ask it here. What the fuck is a "jack" in english language? >Jack (name) >jack (verb) - to jack off >jackknife >jacklight >jackrabbit >jackboots >hijack >jackfruit >lumberjack etc. Barely, if any connections with these words (and there's more) but still they all contain "jack"
>tfw your favourite song (love my way) is now permanently associated with a gay movie and thereby considered gay heritage YOU WON'T GET AWAY WITH THIS
Ryan Phillips
do people speak english in northern italy?
James Ross
>un très bel endroit Wtf, this has to be wrong?
Alexander Gomez
Just google it bro.
Jaxon Ramirez
but the song was about gay love wasn't it? anyway opie is based and i approve this thread
Jonathan Young
David Rodriguez
plusieurs manières* shieeeeet
Idem ici >"You're an honest man, sir!", this is not a virtue but a duty, sir.
Asher Green
un très bel endroit* fucking hell why can't I read twice before posting
Isaiah Brown
no idea. tell me when you find out
Samuel Nguyen
Is that a boy or an androgynous girl
Lucas Rodriguez
in this prepositional phrase "nachdem bei", is "bei" being used as a modal particle?
Xavier Thomas
Masculin : beau devant une consonne, bel devant une voyelle. Féminin : belle.
Jayden Scott
I don't think so. "Bei" would mean "at" or "during" in most cases that come to my mind.
Gabriel Bailey
ok so in a more complete phrase, what is it doing here
i looked up a few examples of "nachdem bei" and within the english equivalent translation, it looks like bei just doesnt do anything
Asher Thomas
>My car is far. Ma voiture est loin. >I'm running to the store. Je cours au magasin. >Death is coming. La mort vient.
>My brother's girlfriend comes home from Sweden tomorrow. >I'm not a very big fan of your favourite artist. >Let's leave this place, it's too hot and my feet hurt. Quittons cet endroit. >My stomach hurts from eating old beef.
>The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time is now. >Finally, as that blazing sun shone down upon us, did we know that true enemy was the voice of blind idolatry; and only then did we begin to think for ourselves. >My mother will one day die, would she have me in her final thoughts?
Nathaniel Ortiz
Either you have no idea what you're talking about or there's missing information here. Why would Frisians be the standard barers of Low Saxon?
Gabriel Brooks
Ryan Peterson
I looked it up and damn you're right guess I had the gay all along
Jordan Brown
Elijah Turner
>ok so in a more complete phrase
This is very incomplete though. It means something like
(Since) during (the process/action) of the first casting for the new season of "Deutschland sucht den Superstar"...
It doesn't mean
After the first casting for the new season of "Deutschland sucht den Superstar"...
always demands a verb and follow up sentence
Nathan Hughes
After the first casting for the new season of "Deutschland sucht den Superstar"...
Would be an example without "bei" and doesn't demand a verb
Justin Barnes
my speaking skills are far behind everything else because I literally don't know what to talk about with people online I know we could play something together but what? I haven't been feeling like playing anything online or coop for a long time :| I've tried joining various discords hoping to make some friends, but we never get to the voice chat part since neither of us want that, talking about cultural differences is boring to me at this point, and there's not much going on in my life to talk about that either
user help please...
Hunter Peterson
VR chat
Easton Richardson
Excellent, je n'avais pas vu celui-là. Merci.
Blake Wright
hmm, what do people usually do in vrchat? I watched it when it was popping on twitch, and it was kind of fun but I never cared to play the game myself
Ryder Murphy
Who is this handsome man?
Wyatt Carter
>I literally don't know what to talk about with people online >there's not much going on in my life to talk about that either i feel that bro. i give up trying to talk to ppl. i'm just going to consume more media
oui oui c'est moi. es-tu l'user a qui j'ai parlé ?
Nathan Robinson
Froy Gutierrez
He's gay, so 0.
Carter Long
Seeing native speakers of my target lang suddenly use English words and phrases while talking online feels dirty. It is like finding yourself in a cute girl's bedroom and seeing a photo of yourself drenched in her cum.
Nolan Phillips
>i feel that bro. i give up trying to talk to ppl. i'm just going to consume more media that's what I did, and I don't have any trouble understanding other people now at all, but I want to be able to speak fluently too :(
Aiden Howard
!(upside down)Sí!
Xavier Gutierrez
>her >cum what
Liam Jones
my wife chino... I WANT TO FUCK CHINO please chino is so cute my wife chino is so cute chino chan sex chino sex with chino i'd like some more kafuu chino sex with chino kafuu chino my wife cute is so chino wife
Sebastian Richardson
Well, I was going to post the same thing, I'm in the same position as you I want to get rid of my accent but I never use english I listen to it all the time, basically all media I consume is in english.
Levi Brown
Cum can mean a man's semen and also the wet stuff in a vagina. Essentially just slang for any sexual fluid. Does the slang work different in Italian?
Justin Wood
>Cum can mean a man's semen and also the wet stuff in a vagina. No it can't
Landon Howard
don't let that discourage you user, if you can understand ppl w no effort at all you must be at a very very good level! try VRchat like that other user said or you could try listening to natives and try to mimic their speech. there was this russian user who did that and he has a very good level, could pass as a native
Cooper James
NTAYRT but it's used like that in real life.
Luke Phillips
What is your language routine? What ressources do you use, how often do you study, etc.?
Eli Miller
Duolingo courses with TTS audio often have a male voice and a female voice. Is there a way to disable one or the other? I hate the female Dutch voice but the male voice is fine.
Cooper Howard
no not afaik
Aaron Collins
(I had to use translator tu understand) Using a dictionary is very good, there's no problem with that. That's how you remember the vocabulary. About speaking, well I guess it comes with practice. Perhaps hearing/watching French content can also help.
Kayden Jenkins
>basically all media I consume is in english yep, same I was thinking of playing some fun and comfy games on steam like golf and tabletop games, but I'd still need to find a community of people willing to play with me and listen to my broken English. >if you can understand ppl w no effort yeah, I'd even say understanding English is as easy as understanding my first language at this point, which I cannot say about speaking. >try VRchat like that other user said or you could try listening to natives and try to mimic their speech. there was this russian user who did that and he has a very good level, could pass as a native I may need some help with that. Do I just join random servers, walk around and say hi to people hoping someone will reply? I also feel like speaking with natives would be more beneficial, and all I've heard so far is some kids screaming in what didn't even sound like English. The thing is, as much as I enjoy learning English, I don't really enjoy speaking in general unless it's just part of another activity like gaming. Any tips on VRChat bro?
Matthew Collins
People don't use cum as much when referring to women, but people do call it cum and cum is the most common slang for it. I would know as I grew up using the word.
Levi Rogers
oh ok, I'm gay so I don't know much about women's bodily fluids
Zachary Harris
>hearing/watching French content can also help. oh yeah i do that! i listen to the innerfrench podcast everyday albeit while reading the transcription. and i've been watching fr gameplays on yt and i can understand maybe 40~50% of what they say if they don't speak too fast
Julian Ortiz
Axioms of easy language learning: 1) No grammar practice (it's time consuming, I don't like it and 100% proper grammar is not my goal) 2) SRS + sentence mining
Mason Foster
>Do I just join random servers, walk around and say hi to people hoping someone will reply? oh boy i've got no idea because i've never used vrchat. but there must be servers with a specific theme ? like an anime server if you're into that, it'd be easier to find people you have interests in common with
