you could also try and sell yourself to small businesses. I read a guy on /g/ once who convinced old people running some local business that they needed an IT guy, and his job iirc was just to take backups of all the systems, and he would do random things for them. Like, if they stored documents about company profits etc, he would have them backed up to a local centralized machine. I forget what he made exactly but his job was basically doing nothing, and the old people didn't understand what he was doing exactly so his job was pretty free
