I like Amity but I think a lot of the appeal of her character comes in pulling back the mask of self-superiority she has and showing that she's an anxious kid trying to follow the rules, not a one-note bully. And I don't think that'd make the same impact without Luz acting as that well meaning divide between her and the audience. Both characters are made better in being able to play a foil to each other.

it's very vague. Either 2 spells is the pre-requisite for specifically for a evocation course, or 2 general spells like abomination crafting and something else for a general studies/emperor's coven prep class.
That's so far the weakness of this series, it's very flimsy setting with not enough set rules or rules made clear for the audience
