You ever think Adrian Toomes aka The Vulture should be a bigger threat or hold more significance in Spider-Man comics? Though he's the second villain to debut in ASM, I always felt that Toomes was Peter's first "real" supervillain (nothing against Chameleon). Though after several decades of material, Vulture hasn't reached the same kind of recognition nor respect as Norman Osborn or Otto Octavius. Why is that? Is it because outside of inventing a flight suit, Adrian hasn't really accomplished much, a significant motivation, or personal history with Parker?
I don't know, I just think Vulture deserves more love. What are your thoughts? Also random thought; I personally love the PS4 Vulture design. It's the right mix of classic and modern in my opinion.

An old man in a leotard flying around and stealing peoples' youth is a hard concept to sell
Bentley Gutierrez
Why not? Otto's just a fatass with 4 mechanical arms
Carson Edwards
>Otto's just a fatass with 4 mechanical arms Otto is also a more interesting character with a better design.
Levi Hughes
Wasn't that only a thing in the cartoon? Vulture's gimmick isn't stealing people's youth. I could also say a man in a Halloween costume flying around on a glider throwing pumpkin shaped grenades is a hard sell too
Eli Jackson
They'd have to come up with a compelling personality or hook to him. I don't think there's been a definitive take on him yet. Even Spectacular kinda gave up on him.
I mean, 2017 Spider-Man tried too hard to make him into a main villain with the whole Goblin King bullshit and it didn't work.
Mason Phillips
ever why vultures are considered villainous in fiction? in real life all they ever do eat what's already died and barf and run away when threatened.
Grayson Robinson
>A better design You sure about that? They're equally ridiculous. Here's the thing about Otto; he lucked out. I argue that if Vulture had been given the number of early appearances Doc Ock had, their roles would have been reversed in terms of later significance. They're both brilliant men with technical achievements. Fair, but Adrian seems like an easy fix. >Old bitter genius is upset his own inventions never got recognition >Now has a career in stealing/salvaging other people's tech to either sell or improve his own work. >Most of his earnings go towards his suit, which is keeping him alive. Done. It's their association with picking on the weak or dead.
>You sure about that? Yes I'm fucking sure about that, Otto's design has stood the test of time. >I argue that if Vulture had been given the number of early appearances Doc Ock had, their roles would have been reversed in terms of later significance Not really
