how would you fix the dceu if you had total creative control?
thread for either realistic ideas or proposals for your d-lister origin movie that will never get made
How would you fix the dceu if you had total creative control?
Let Zack Snyder direct it all
It's too late at this point, the new plan of "make a movie to be a movie " seems fine.
Basically need to nuke it to the ground with a flashpoint or have batmite turn it all into the brave and bold fun mode
Strike the DC Meth Universe / Snyder stuff from the record. Move forward with the small victories they had with Wonder Woman (Jenkins needs to learn to direct action in a manner that isn't subservient to the terrible Snyder school), Aquaman, and Shazam.
Hitch the wagons to Black Adam.
Build a proper movie universe out of the Marvel Family relationship, and adjacent DC heroes that didn't bomb.
Throw a bunch of cash at Henry Cavill to get one more Superman performance out of him in a movie that isn't a depressing nightmare betrayal of the big blue boyscout.
going full woke
zack snyder has never made a single good movie, including that one that you're thinking of
I'm with this guy, just roll with Batman #7 and stop making oblique references to the previous movies. The tried to be "Avengers Too" and it didn't work, but Batman (almost) always sells.\
The bigger issue is, are theaters finally kill?
>Throw a bunch of cash at Henry Cavill to get one more Superman performance out of him
It's like you hate Henry Cavill. He deserves better out of life than putting on that miserable costume again.
But didn't he ruin every movie he touch?
Also he's fucking broken and crazy now since Justice League.
"You people lost your virginity to my movie!" who the fuck rants like that holy shit.
>zack snyder has never made a single good movie, including that one that you're thinking of
and it's still better than the current DCEU
>But didn't he ruin every movie he touch?
and the new DCEU kills every movie it touches.
So I take Snyder
I mean, would it be worse than playing second fiddle to an over the hill manlet in Mission Impossible?
Routh and Cavill are both great Supermen; they were just in fucking awful movies. Plus I'm a Superman fan, and just want to see a new big screen Superman movie that doesn't suck ass.
I would also fold the CW actors into the roster. That may free up Cavill since they have TV Superman, but some of those shows are fun and I wouldn't be mad at seeing the characters added to a big budget flick.
>hitch your cinematic universe to dwayne the rock johnson
this might unironically be their best shot at being profitable
Agreed, if wb wasnt a bunch of creativeless pussies they would have known to leave the nolan-verse separate and let the dceu/jla be a bigger/brighter vision. Henry Cavill would be excellent (still) as a new superman in a bigger/brighter version but imho WB fukked up too bad and Cavill wont work with them anytime in the future. Too bad.
make it animated
>Pull directly from the animated stuff based off pre-2011 DC
Cavill could have been a great Superman though. Saw shades of it in Justice League of all movies. That is the tragedy of both he and Batfleck who could have been THE live action Batman under a better writer/Director.
>I mean, would it be worse than playing second fiddle to an over the hill manlet in Mission Impossible?
Is this a rhetorical question?
>Routh and Cavill are both great Supermen
No, they are not. Neither rose above a terrible script to give a great performance, which great actors do all the time. All they did was look attractive in a costume. Your die-hard superfag status is blinding you to the fact that they were boring in the role, like young Ben Affleck in pretty much everything he's ever been in.
Handsome but forgettable.
The Rock has made just as many bombs as hits, often in the same year.
Ben Affleck was never going to be the definitive ANYTHING, he's best known for being the dullest actor in ensemble pictures.
He's the male equivalent of the supermodel actress, hot but completely dishwater.
You can't save the current DCEU without some big shenanigan with flash and the multiverse.
Zack Snyder's base was not meant to be like Marvel, yet WB tried to do the same. Also please change the hair of Superman
But they did leave the nolan verse alone, or were they floating around fucking with it at some point?
>Ben Affleck was never going to be the definitive ANYTHING, he's best known for being the dullest actor in ensemble pictures
Even in Snyder's movie he managed to stand out as Batman and the only real problem people had with his portrayal was the killing ( which is funny since every live action Batman minus Clooney killed somebody) fact is Affleck killed it as Batman and should have had his own solo movie.
DC heroes were meant to be even more bright and mythic than Marvel's troubled monsters and vigilantes.
Making them reluctant, autistic and morose was just a fucking complete Fail.
Snyder tried to essentially remake the JL into the Watchmen.
It really makes me think that Watchmen was the only comic book he's actually sat down and read in his life.
I would scrap the DCEU, no reboot/relaunch. I'm there's two franchises that are directly related for development purposes like Shazam/Black Adam/JSA I'll let them maintain that connection but no new interconnected movies. I'd shelf Batmab and Superman franchises for a minimum of five years pre-development. I would draw up a list of potentially viable properties and invite directors and writers to pitch ideas. I would explain this to the industry press that unlike some studios our focus is on quality, not quantity.
I unironically wanted to see Snyder's full vision. At least he was doing something new and interesting with capeshit instead of using the same dried up formula.
>Even in Snyder's movie he managed to stand out as Batman
We have apparently watched it in a different language, because I own the blu rays and his Batman/Bruce is almost inarguably the worst.
Based autist. Snyderkino is exactly the same capshit formula--unrepentant Evil Doer wants to blue-beam/blow up your city/nation/planet shit.
The only significant changes Snyder made to the genre was all the shitty filtering effects and everyone acting awkward in costume.
they need to go full retard with the dark multiverse and work their ways backwards to a dc universe.
> hasnt watched Witcher
Get a good director and a writer and Cavill could save the Dceu / WarnerButtheads while painting lil warhammer figs. There’s proof.
>Holds up Witcher as an example of greatness.
There really is no hope for you then.
Just keep trying to send Cavill nudes of yourself.
You're the minority of that opinion.
