If it was just 'I don't trust them' it would be fine, but the way Spike is written, and the way everyone else reacts to him... it makes him feel like a character out of a bad fanfiction that was written to shit on characters the author didn't like, Spike included.
I also kinda feel that way with the EDC (you know, since they're dumb as a bag of hammers), and I *know* there was a thing with a lot of old-school British TF fans hating that organization to their core because they felt it was 'too Japanese'.
