On his first appeareance in Showcase #4 he fought two villains: Turtle Man and ̶G̶r̶a̶n̶t̶ ̶M̶o̶r̶r̶i̶s̶o̶n̶ Mazdan

The Shade was the first Jay Garrick supervillain; the first Barry Allen supervillain was Turtle Man who was based on the Garrick villain The Turtle.

The list in is missing a bunch of people before Grodd and The Pied Piper. Captain Cold and Mirror Master were both earlier plus Mazdan, who appeared in the same issue as Turtle Man and is technically the first original supervillain original to Barry.

>The Turtle Man (sometimes simply calling himself "the Turtle") was the first gimmicked Rogue fought by the second Flash (Barry Allen) and appeared in Central City shortly after Barry's debut as the Flash.
That was October 1956, right in Barry's origin issue and three years before Grodd. The Turtle being Barry's first enemy is even a plot point in the Flash: Year One story of the current run.

Yeah, but the thread is about the first villain the hero encounters, not the first original supervillain, that'd still be the Turtle.

>The Invisible Destroyer is a manifestation of the unconscious mind of Dr. Martin Phillips. Green Lantern apparently disintegrated him after stopping him from destroying Coast City, leaving Phillips apparently cured of whatever mental imbalance had created him.

Hal Jordan's first true costumed supervillain (not just a generic mad scientist).
