Both Capcom and Ike were the ones who pushed for the roster and MCU like characters. I was surprised Nova and Ghost Rider got in but I guess they had to reuse some models.
Ike might be gone from making creative decision but Feige is at the helm now and I don't doubt he'll try to make everything to reflect the MCU since that's what he gives a shit about the most.

While I agree. They probably just thought X had gotten the snub for too long. And since Sigma was there with Zero. Why try another flavor?
MM has so many flavors, there is no reason X & Zero had to be from the same series if Sigma had to be the boss.

exactly if they wanted to include X then sorry but we don't need zero. In a crazy crossover fighter why would I want to see the same rehashed plot of zero x and sigma. Zero fighting classic as he was programmed to destroy him before teaming up to fight Tron bonne is a lot more interesting then X and Zero teaming up to fight sigma again

the problem is that since this years EVO, a MvC themed one mind you, is cancelled, this could easily give capcom a chance to heavily delay the project, change it or downright cancel it.
