Nukes > alien squid. The film version makes more sense...

These games are retarded but their twists...are also retarded but amazing

At least, the Snyder adaptation is visually good and t he man has artistic vision.
HBO's was a fucking fraud

People ARE scared of Americs for using nukes.

Manhattan was nukes and the Squid was supposed to be even further than beyond.

He just copied the original comics artistic vision. Everything he did since was awful too.

Ozymandias, Dan and Comedian suits are redone to be more Batman-like / tacticool.
Even the 3hours and half version of the movie still has to drop things from the comics.

It's simply impossible to adapt everything.

Your opinion is objectively wrong their suits were still kitsch.

The squid was proof of alien invasion. A truly immediate, global threat. The only way to cut the gordian knot of the geopolitical situation in the 1980's--a world that had balanced precariously on the sword point of MAD--mutually assured (thermonuclear) destruction as the basis of relations between the US and USSR for four decades. It was meant to cause cooperation between the two akin to their WW2 alliance.

Alan Moore did not, like anyone else in the early-mid 1980's, anticipate one side of the Cold War would just melt away by the end of the decade, making the sacrifice of New York, while attractive in it's own right, actually unnecessary to achieve Ozzy's goal of avoiding being the "smartest man on a cinder," as The Comedian teased him about in his own charmingly nihilistic way.

...Why doesn't Barbara's suit have nipples?

If you think these suit are equally kitsh, you have taste issues

Indeed I would argue that Watchmen totally fucked up Snyder's approach to DC--he turned Superman--who Moore nailed as Reagan-era USA cheerleader in "The Dark Knight)--into Dr. Manhattan. And he turned Batman into little more than a wealthy Rorschach. Neither worked.
