Why does everybody like Dr. Doom so much?

Who says I hate him? I actually prefer him as a character with those exaggeratedly deep-seated flaws, he shouldn't just be a hype machine for fanboys to wank to... Okay granted, somebody who CAN live up to his own hype to an extent, yes, but also somebody who's defeat really has legitimate weight behind it when he's played as an antagonizing force, both thematically, and personally for every character in his stories who he's put through the ringer.

If anything, I feel it's more of a disservice to water him down by making him edgeless and intellectually 'reasonable' just because writers only know how to characterize a single "type" of meme personality for smart people.

I mean Tony gets a pass cause hes got style, hes got pizazz, hes a wolf in a henhouse and everybody knows it, thats why hes on top.

Tony eats, sleeps and breaths industry, he doesn't have a family to take care of or investments to cradle. The FF are subsiding off 30 year old patent licenses like they were DOW chemical or Union Carbide, basically patent trolling at this point cause IRL science has taken such a nosedive.

Science entails risk.

Well alright then.
Doom stays.

Yea it's not as fun when the story is always the FF as all American beloved celebrities in a super advanced amazing penthouse full of space age gadgets. 70s era stuff was more fun when they were barely making rent in the Baxter Building and pissing off all the other tenants and had to deal with a landlord.

just cause something fun to live doesn't mean its fun to watch.

I don't know if any of what you said is true, but it sounds entertaining.

I mostly just enjoy seeing Doom get ass kicked
