Because Doom does as he pleases.

Meme character. Marvel told their fans that Doom's stories are the apex of writing and Marvel fans chose to believe it.

He's every supervillain trope/cliché rolled into one character, but has influenced so many that came after and has such a IDGAF attitude that it's almost endearing. Like Lex Luthor and Cartman, some of his best moments have been when he's succeeded/close to succeeding but undoes it all for the most petty, childish of reasons.

>inb4 Tommy shows up ranting about "apex of writing"

He's the classic villain

>apex of writing
Bullshit, Doom has always been badly written. That's why he's so overpowered.

>but has influenced so many that came after
Name three villains influenced by Dr. Doom.

>inb4 "DARTH VADER IS TOTALLY A DOOM COPY. TRUST ME, BRO!"

LIKE. FUCKING. CLOCKWORK.

Attached: 1558135186074.png (724x855, 427.58K)

he's the wildcard

The villain has to have some unfair advantage over the hero. If not not, then what's the point? This isn't a fucking FIGHTING GAME.

>I'M SO MAD THAT I WRITE IN CAPS

I can understand people saying they don't feel his chemistry with the FF compared to Strange and Stark, but I don't get saying he has none.
In fact Doom usually can shift gears to antagonize a lot of different character types, from belittling the achievements of the reserved and intelligent like Reed to stoking the frustration of the reckless and cocky like Johnny.

Attached: 1323366648832.jpg (692x666, 276.18K)

Doom is a fucking PUNK.

Everyone talks about how horrible a villain he is, yet every damn one of his reads, at least the ones that I've seen or been suggested to see by Yas Forums, depict him as more of a fucking antihero than an actual villain.

Joker -- Killed Jason Todd, paralyzed Barbara, killed Sarah, etc.

Magneto -- Ripped Wolverine's fucking skeleton out

Green Goblin -- Killed Gwen Stacy, all of the psychological damage to his own fucking son

Doom -- The nigga delivered Reed Richards' child.

His big "act of villainy" there was just NAMING THE GIRL. Sure, you can toss out the whole "oh well he was proving that he could do something that Richards couldn't, he could help his family when Richards could not", or the bs "Oh well he's a classy motherfucker dohoho/he's an honorable villain" crap out there, but when it comes down to it, Doom hasn't done SHIT.

That all being said, Doom crying at 9/11 wasn't any sort of break in character or anything to me. Hell, I would even go as far to say that it was entirely IN character.

Isn't Tommy Ladderbro? So does he hate the Big 2 in general and just have it out for DC more?

Autists find him relatable.

i see him as an anti-villain like Magneto.

No, Ladderbro is a DC-hating redditor who has a hateboner for another redditor called Tommy. So he thinks Tommy is pursuing him everywhere he goes.

That's what happens when you like Marvel.

Because Doom is the true hero of Marvel

He’s just fucking cool, he’s strong, runs his own country, and literally does not give a single fuck who you are from Spider-Man to Galactus and Thanos. Also, MF DOOM. Unironically.

Best characterization:
>a man completely enslaved to his own insecurities, perpetually seething that he will never match up to his own perfectionist standards - while all too keen to flex on anyone he comfortably recognizes as "beneath him"
>cursed to always come in at "second place" in every field of endeavor he seriously applies himself to, because he lacks any earnest passion for his academic pursuits and merely treats these disciplines as a utilitarian means to an end
>fanatical "old world" eastern European traditionalist that wants to rigidly reshape the entire world to his autistic ideological doctrine, which only works under the conceit that human beings can be "programmed" like robots with enough force
>for all his hype, is really just a petty little man who has no ability to cope with his any humanizing short-comings or compromises to his own unyielding ego

Miss me with that dindu nuffin/"too intelligent to have personality flaws" Doomfag fan-fiction shit, though.

Because a famous rapper named himself after him.

Him being overpowered isn't the problem, as much as it is writers letting a story's narrative suck his dick because they're fucking fanboys

post it

Second best at absolutely everything. Smart as fuck. King of his own nation. Beloved by his subjects.
Still so petty he inevitably becomes his own worst enemy.
It's pure and honest pity for the poor guy who just can't help himself.

>second best
Marvel's DBZ that's about science instead of fighting with Richards and Doom as Goku and Vegeta WHEN

Attached: It's not RICHAAAAARDS.png (478x473, 24.7K)

I like Doom cause hes a right arrogant bastard. Magneto is a pompous windbag, Joker is a tryhard edgelord, Green Goblin is a joke meme.

Doom is fun to watch.

dude, why you gotta hate on him?

hate the retard fans, not a fictional character.

Is there any way to get him to do a rap video?

Cause that would be baller.

Dooms fine, its the fucking FF4 that are lame as shit. FF4 doesn't need a new rogues gallery, it needs a new team.

Except Grimm. Grimms cool, he can stay.

he's very entertaining, which is what matters the most

Attached: 1562799711676.png (802x500, 745.47K)

Seriously, FF4 is boring as shit.
Dooms completely wasted on them.

Their whole Randian Schtick is so played out, Stark does it way better than Reed anyhow.

Reed is way too cautious in his application of super-science, the world isn't going to implode just cause of a few math squiggles on a chalk board. Scientists have to put the force of their personality behind their work, they have to invest something of themselves in what they do.

Reed isn't a scientist because he has no spirit for adventure, he is afraid to push the boundaries. Hes a functionary, a paper pusher.

Just based on the name alone, how can you not like a guy named Doctor Doom?

Reed lacks insight into his own attachments, he doesn't understand what makes himself tick. He is too dispassionate for readers to get interested in him, the guys basically just a neurotic mess.

Sue is a housewife who has superpowers, the fact that she is a scientists is ancillary to her character. She might as well stay home and bake cookies.

And Jhonny is just a sidekick, he is so outclassed by modern supers he might as well be a running gag. Its like somebody thought, "Hey, what if we gave Jimmy Olsen superpowers and permanent spot on a superhero team?"

I mean who the fuck cares, go join the boyscouts you flamin' fruitcake.

Its funny cause it implies he went to medical school or has a phd, but was still socially oblivious enough to call himself Doom.

Reeds be all like, "Oh, look at me, I had an affair, I'm such a sensitive special snowflake, look how I reconcile with my wife like a cuck!"

He doesn't have the Fred Flintstone in him to own it, to say, "Yeah, I fucked her! Maybe if you'd weren't such a frigid bitch I would have stayed home!"

Reeds all like, "Oh boo hoo, I'm so sorry honey, i made a mistake.."

Even something like having him making drunk phonecalls or showing up at the Baxter building screaming "SUUUUUE... I'z SHORRRY! PLEAZE TAKES ME BACKSH!" would be preferable to his Mr. Roboto schtick.

For a guy whos supposed to be so flexible, the man sure is wooden.

Because Doom is the based Alpha Villain and best bros with even more Based Alpha-chad Namor. Together Doom gets to hang with Reed's kids while Namor gets to fish bang Sue and Reed is totally cool with it.

Attached: 22557_size3.jpg (590x295, 207.59K)

Doom is the main villain of Marvel Earth, and when bigger shit shows up from space he is usually hanging out with the heroes and joins them in taking down the space villains.

He also thinks it's beneath him to randomly kill nonpowered allies of heroes. He didn't bother killing anyone Gwen Stacy or shooting Barbra because that's stupid and not helpful to any plan of his.

And Jhonny is basically just a discount Captain America. "Gee Whiz gang! Galactus is robbing the quick-e-mart!"

Sue is a holdover from a time when womens sufferage was still considered a radical position. She has no personality, shes fucking borderline, like a slightly nicer Jean Grey except she doesn't dress, look or act like a supermodel.

The author is basically so conservative he thinks along the lines of "The first woman to attend an Ivy league school, how progressive!"

You want to fix Sue, you make her Chinese, you have her graduate from a Polytech instead of Stanford or wherever the fuck. Give her a personality for fucks sake.

Are you saying Doom can't accomplish things like removing metal bones from Canadian midgets or shooting non powered street level heroes in their apartments?

The FF4 are just so out of touch, they are for throwbacks and people who are stuck in the silver/ golden age and don't have the sense of irony to appreciate any change to the forumla or tongue in cheek humor. (like when that guy said, "You're a credit to your people.)

They are too much a product of their era and haven't been able to adapt, they are basically relying on old cranks to keep buying cause it gives them that old familiar glow, or young people nostaligic for an era they never had to live through themselves.

He has the most Hero's Journey backstory of almost anyone in Marvel. And comes off more like an evil Batman than a Marvel Lex. He has the same tragic orphan origin, traveled across the globe training with various masters and learned skills to be capable of rivaling ridiculously powerful heroes. And is now a rich fuck in a huge castle who can beat anyone with preptime and gadgets.

I mean sure, the ideals never go out of fashion, but the style sure does.

I always thought Incredibles was the most faithful movie adaptation of the FF concept. More things should try to focus on the family of heroes aspect over the first team in 60s era Marvel concept

the ff4 aren't a pastiche, they are literal relics.

>Reed is way too cautious in his application of super-science, the world isn't going to implode just cause of a few math squiggles on a chalk board.
user this is Marvel it very well might
>but was still socially oblivious enough to call himself Doom
First of all Autists exist
second of all why you gotta hate on a man's family name

yeah, exactly.
Incredibles was awesome, they really showed the spirit of what the ff4 must have been like for people of that era.
Plus, you know, they were still upwardly mobile without being multi-billionaires.
It sets a bad example to start at the top and stay there like your playing king of the mountain.

When is the last time the ff4 fell on hard times, or their stock took a dive? You don't have to be a buster to feel the taxman callin'.

the whole thing that makes a comic book a comic book is that its not subject to the same whims as reality. You can invent a weather control machine without breaking the earths EM field and causing global-homo warming.

IRL superscience is on lockdown cause reality is so fucking fragile, Marvel doesn't have that problem.

Who says I hate him? I actually prefer him as a character with those exaggeratedly deep-seated flaws, he shouldn't just be a hype machine for fanboys to wank to... Okay granted, somebody who CAN live up to his own hype to an extent, yes, but also somebody who's defeat really has legitimate weight behind it when he's played as an antagonizing force, both thematically, and personally for every character in his stories who he's put through the ringer.

If anything, I feel it's more of a disservice to water him down by making him edgeless and intellectually 'reasonable' just because writers only know how to characterize a single "type" of meme personality for smart people.

Attached: Doom vs Thing.jpg (793x790, 216.26K)

I mean Tony gets a pass cause hes got style, hes got pizazz, hes a wolf in a henhouse and everybody knows it, thats why hes on top.

Tony eats, sleeps and breaths industry, he doesn't have a family to take care of or investments to cradle. The FF are subsiding off 30 year old patent licenses like they were DOW chemical or Union Carbide, basically patent trolling at this point cause IRL science has taken such a nosedive.

Science entails risk.

Well alright then.
Doom stays.

Yea it's not as fun when the story is always the FF as all American beloved celebrities in a super advanced amazing penthouse full of space age gadgets. 70s era stuff was more fun when they were barely making rent in the Baxter Building and pissing off all the other tenants and had to deal with a landlord.

just cause something fun to live doesn't mean its fun to watch.

I don't know if any of what you said is true, but it sounds entertaining.

I mostly just enjoy seeing Doom get ass kicked

FOOT DIVE

Tommy and Ladder are ex-lovers who chase each other around Yas Forums in a retarded love-hate thing

Attached: ladderboy.jpg (366x488, 14.7K)

wtf is Grimm freebasing or something?
why is he all jacked?

>For a guy whos supposed to be so flexible, the man sure is wooden.
i think you just nailed his characterization.

or hes just over the top and campy at times and gets fucked over by reed richards so much you'd think it was his hobby.

In eras of social and political dysfunction people tend to gravitate towards a strongman more.
