>Greg dismisses the grandparents as overbearing
>Greg starts playing the CD and Steven finds out, to his dissapointment and annoyance, that Greg allowed some vague song lyrics guide his life choices more than his family.
>Life choices that led to him living an aimless life, a life he mistakenly believes does have an aim
>Steven then realises Greg idiotically decided to raise his him so off-hands he didn't even think basic education and health care mattered.
>Greg just says freedom is everything and that Steven has it better than he, even though Steven is clearly upset he didn't even get to know his own granparents because of Greg's decisions
>After a car crash, Greg just tries to take it cool and offers Ice Cream, clearly not understanding what his son actually needs.
... So uh, yeah... The show actually acknowledged that Greg is not a good father. Until now it just seemed like we were just meant to think he was totally fine because of his laid back attitude..

Relating to Mr Universe: Steven reminds me of one of those kids who religiously watches Ben Shapiro in an act of rebellion against his hippie parents and believes in "traditional values" as a result; craving a "normal family" while not actually knowing what he believes in in the first place.
