>Their entire way of life was shown to be wrong
>Gave up power, freed gems
>Working to fix gems they personally hurt
That's a lot more than most redeemed characters do. Usually they just fight on the heroes side
New preview images are up. Looks like Steven and Jasper are doing some training
Predicting which characters get focus in the following episodes:
>Mr. Universe: Greg
>Fragments: Jasper
>Homeworld Bound: Spinel
>Everything’s Fine: White Diamond
>I Am My Monster: Steven
>The Future: everyone
Forgiveness doesn't equal "you get to do whatever you want and get no consequence if you feel sorry about it". Criminals can be forgiven by their victims but they still have to go to jail. Popular franchises like Batman have done this, with villains like Mr Freeze who are totally sympathetic who the protagonist pities, but he still goes to jail because he was doing bad things. Batman still works to save his wife because he understands his motivations, he knows he's not evil, but puts him in jail because criminals must suffer repercussions for their acts.
Sapient life or not, it doesn't change the fact that the diamonds murdered billions of planets. Those lifeforms could have turn into intelligent lifeforms, but they were wiped away before they could do it. Not to mention the fact that their empire shattered any gem that was born "wrong" or dared to do things the diamonds didn't like, and their horrible cluster experiments. The Diamonds acts are some of the most vile in cartoons and they get away with it because Steven made them feel bad.
They are doing that because they want to, not because they are being forced to by anyone, and nobody is calling them shit for being responsible for that damage. Its not the same.
What are you talking about? They havent had shit
>still get to live in their palace
>still are important enough that their livestreams are spread throughout the universe and every gem stops what they are doing to hear them out
>they never truly realize how much damage they have done and treat everything like shit
The worst thing that has happened to them is that they feel awkward in certain situations. Thats it. Millenia of tyranny and genocide and its just that.
>Yfw Greg dies
He'd be pinked if that was the case. Worst case scenario: He gets hurt like in the movie.
So is I Am My Monster the final battle and Future a relatively chill and relaxed final goodbye, or does Steven turn into a monster in I Am My Monster and Future is the final battle
Because the last 3 episodes all come out on the same day so I guess they're a sort of big event
I Am My Monster is the scuffle episode. The Future will be the conclusion
I mean who’s gonna force them? It’s actually better this way because they are making a genuine effort with no influence rather than forced into servitude as it speaks more of the change they made
>They are doing that because they want to, not because they are being forced to by anyone, and nobody is calling them shit for being responsible for that damage. Its not the same.
But isn't that better? They've truly undergone a change in character for the better rather than being still evil but forced to do good under threat of penalty
I can understand perhaps being upset that they continue to live in such relative luxury but even so
I support the death penalty IRL man, and even I think you guys are getting way too worked up and vindictive over something fictional
>Greg loses an arm
>steven loses an eye
