DC doesn't hate the new gods, they're just afraid of being accused of plagiarism by the mouth breathers.
>here's a space opera about a son trying to stop his evil father
So now it's about trying to find a new angle to present.
Why does DC hate Orion?
Because DC is now and has always been run by basedcucks. Seriously though, Morrison has done decent stuff with him throughout his career, but he the last good writer who actually gave a fuck about the Fourth World. John's Darkseid War wasn't horrible but it Orion wasn't in it and I'm sure I only liked it for Fabok's art.
If the New God's movie ever gets made you just know DC will hire some young douche to revamp the Fourth World universe and diversify it needlessly and it will be a piss poor affair all the way around.
That thing he rides has always looked very stupid to me.
>Because since Super Friends and Adventure Comics ruined the New Gods reputation all the characters of the 4th world becomed just jokes.
Don't make excuses for Nu52 shit.
The New Gods had no problem being taken seriously for decades after it. It was only post Flashpoint bullshit that they were reduced to their current pathetic state
>and therefore ages said character
You mean Highfather whose supposed to be old as fuck anyway or Darkseid who has another son and isn't even meant to be a relateable character anyway?
Is Godhead Orion still dead?
Why do CIAfags always do this?
>It was only post Flashpoint bullshit that they were reduced to their current pathetic state
No, they were definitely pathetic when they all got killed offscreen as a lead-in to Final Crisis.
>Because since Super Friends and Adventure Comics ruined the New Gods reputation all the characters of the 4th world becomed just jokes.
Superfriend arguably(though everybody is a joke in superfriends). The DCAU is much more influential depiction of the DCU for most people which is much better, though sadly, Orion does get his ass kicked in Twilight.
You're wrong about Return of the New Gods(only the last part wich was published in Adventure Comics)
>Darkseid is just generic alien lord that can't even kill Superman with a mere touch.
Kirb'y Darkseid was never that powerful.
>Highfather is just space wizard.
More Space Prophet.
>Orion is just Wonder Woman's boyfriend that's weaker than earth's gods for some fucking reason.
This is from the Azzarello WW run. From the New 52.
>Only Bryne and Morrison knows how make Kirby's Orion works
Have not gotten to Byrne in my Fourth World readings, but in his Superman Legends crossover Darkseid is a perfect representation of the Alien Warlord interpretation. Morrison's Final Crisis is a far cry from Kirby in power levels.
And Morrison's treatment of Orion? He kills Orion, the one who was prophesied to kill Darkseid, off screen and Darkseid's ultimately defeated by Batman and Superman. Every other writer, though bound to to give Darkseid joker immunity by DC editorial at least respected the idea that someday Orion would be the one to someday kill Darkseid.
In short, your spewing shit you know nothing about.
The adventure comics issues are only the conclusion of Return of the New Gods, but I'd say give it a shot. Orions new costume there sucked. Kirby seemed to consider it half canon for Hunger Dogs as Darkseid kidnapping Esak happened in "Return", but on the other hand Kirby ignored the death of Lonar from "Return".
Return has an interesting interpretation of Anti-Life which could have possibly influenced Starlin's from cosmic Odyssey.
The only thing holding the fourth world back is it's own legacy as Kirby's Magnum Opus.
