Nah, but unironically Alucard in Sotn came off as cool and collected but also deeply reserved and somewhat conflicted about the task set out for his. This part of his character was coveyed pretty clearly despite the antiquated voice-acting and the silly translation.
It's not especially in-depth, but it still manages to be less maudlin than what Ellis wrote.
