Working on a golden era mix. Need some input Yas Forums
10 years, 10 songs
>Free - All Right Now (1970) >Alice Cooper - I'm Eighteen (1971) >Alice Cooper - School's Out (1972) >Slade - Cum On Feel the Noize (1973) >Bachman-Turner Overdrive - You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet (1974) >Kiss - Rock and Roll All Nite (1975) >Thin Lizzy - The Boys Are Back in Town (1976) >Queen - We Are The Champions (1977) >Bob Seger & the Bullet Band - Old Time Rock & Roll (1978) >AC/DC - Highway to Hell (1979)
too many classics. i'm thinking the ten song format isn't going to work so let's build it up

Great choices all. I would go with the Led Zeppelin song 'Rock & Roll' (or maybe Black Dog) for 1971 rather that back-to-back Alice Cooper.
Frankly, it kinds kills me to limit this to one song per year.
Ryan Martin
Alice Cooper has some great deep cuts like 'Mr & Miss Demeanor' and 'Be My Lover.' His (their?) debut is a post-psychedelic mess of a good time, but that's from the late '60s so I guess it's no good for the playlist. Listen to it if you like Coop in general, though. Kiss is another band with tons of great lesser-known tracks straight through to Love Gun.
What your playlist really needs is some Black Sabbath and Jethro Tull. Maybe 'War Pigs' and 'Locomotive Breath'?

deep purple - highway star lynyrd skynyrd - simple man

You are wise to stick to hard rock here - you don't want to bust this party up with some Eagles shit.
Your 1973 spot is the right place for ZZ Top. La Grange or, if you can stand a lesser-known singe that fits in incredibly well, Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers.

1976 - Do Ya - ELO

>lynyrd skynyrd - simple man
Perfectly good song, but I am going to discourage OP from adding it. If you go ELO, then the next thing you know we are adding Steve Miller, then Tom Petty, then Bruce Springsteen. Before you know it, America and Fleetwood Mac are on and its ruined.
Chase Jenkins
Ahh fuck I messed that post up,
Lynyrd Sknyrd is kino, esp. if you want one slower song that still fits in with the 70's hard rock theme.

No more 10 song limit & 1980 is honorary 70's

If 1980 is honorary 70s, then 1970 is honorary 60s. And BTO had better songs than YASNY.
Jose King
This is a real boomer list, no born-in-a-wrong-generation-zoomer would even know about Free or Slade. Great work. Maybe add some Budgie or Uriah Heep

Some of the stuff like Way This Way was fairly obvious but Grand Funk doesn't get mentioned enough nowadays and as I said, BTO had better songs than the two overplayed radio hits everyone knows.
Everything Alice did up till raise your.fist and yell is good-brilliant. Especially the early 80s post punk albums he did while freebasing cocaine..a few spotty albums but still worth checking out.
Anthony Morales
Dude this is like entry level stuff. If you're going to put thin lizzy on there atleast put on their put one of their non normie songs like sarah or bad reputation.
