Queen's A Night at the Odeon is an absolutely fantastic live album. Shame that there aren't more of their concerts released officially as albums.
God seed - live at wacken
One of the absolute best metal albums of all time.
Vieuphoria/Earphoria - Smashing Pumpkins
great live band
my main problem with this is berlin trilogy is so study heavy a lot of the songs suffer somewhat live, heroes is the first to come to mind. still a good album though
80s bowie said he didn't like this tour because of the instrumentals like warszawa
honest take and I somewhat agree. Heroes performed in Musikladen 78 (iirc) is probably my favorite live version of the song. I think some of the live footage from that tour is amazing, seeing everyone on stage humming along without missing a beat. Adrian Belew looks like a kid who just discovered how to make a guitar sing, Carlos Alomar playing impeccably, it just sort of works for me. I'm surprised to hear that Bowie didn't like it because to me Isolar II was one of the highlights of his career.
bob marley live at the roxy
well that was sell out 80s bowie speaking, he said a lot of stupid shit around that time.
i will say that isolar ii probably has my favorite outfits, the real spacey baggy thing he's got going on is cool and the translucent jackets look cool. it's also probably him at his peak in terms of facial aesthetics, looked great after the frailness and caked on makeup of the last few tours
This
Any Coil live performance is God Tier
Easily one of the live albums i've listened to the most and just one of my favorite albums. The songs on GWS work so great as a full live band piece and the energy they put into this show is amazing. youtube.com
GodWeenSatan Live btw, fucked up the link cuz retard
The og
Redefined how I thought of electronic music live
>daft punk

I guarantee this thread will not be filled with jazz, despite live jazz albums being, usually, the top of the crop:
Freddie Hubbard - Night of the Cookers
Miles Davis - Dark Magus
Ornette Coleman - At the Golden Circle
Coltrane - Live in Japan
Mingus - At Antibes
Roy Meriwether - Nubian Lady
Pharoah Sanders - Live at the East
Johnny Griffin - Live in Tokyo
also basically whatever live Monk you want to pick.
other selections
Beefheart - Live in Cowtown 1974
Les Rallizes Denudes - 77 Live
Carlos Santana/Buddy Miles - Live!
Tyler Damon/Tashi Dorji - Leave No Trace
Hendrix - Band of Gypsys
Alice Coltrane - Live at Berkeley 1973
came in to post thjis
Based. First album I bought with my own money. The live versions of alot of their later material I think have more energy than the recorded versions.
Sure, if you discount the songs and the puppetshow aspect of the band.
"One More From The Road" - Lynryd Skynyrd
"Live And Dangerous" - Thin Lizzy
"Live At Budokan" - Cheap Trick
"No Sleep Till Hammersmith" - Motorhead
"Exit Stage Left" and "All The World's A Stage" - Rush
"Two For The Show" - Kansas
"Seconds Out" - Genesis
"Yessongs" - Yes
"Strangers In The Night" - UFO
"Some Enchanted Evening" - Blue Oyster Cult
"Double Live Gonzo" - Ted Nugent
"Live At Leeds" - The Who
"Bursting Out" - Jethro Tull
"Suck On This" - Primus
It's way, way, way better than Live Killers, which I always saw as a weak live album and just a cash grab. This one almost didn't happen, because the tapes were lost until 2009. It's way more definitive than Live Killers.
I almost said "hey, dad" but even my dad doesn't have bad enough taste to like Nugent and Rush seriously
Ah bloo bloo. Keep crying like anyone cares.
Just because you like a live album does not make it a truly great one. The sheer idea that Ted fucking Nugent has ever made any great recordings alone is pretty hilarious
I see you chose "crying harder".
Checking: nope. Nobody cares.
