From the previous thread >It looks at your most listened to tracks and takes the top 20 artists among them. Then it checks last.fm for how many listeners are listed for each artist, adds that up, and compares the total to an average score.
That's the main thing, but there are a few additional details to retrieve a more accurate score, such as taking the logarithm of the number of listeners for each artist since the distribution of listeners per artists follows an exponential distribution.

>I guess that's a relatively good method, though it fucks up for tracks that have more than one artist credited. It considers the collection of them a different unique artist. So if you listened to a track by "X" and another by "X, Y", it totals the number of listeners for "X" but also separately totals the number of listeners for "X, Y" verbatim, which is usually very small, since the aggregate credit probably only exists for one or a few tracks. They should split authorship on commas and treat each one separately, I think.
That's a good point. Best alternative, in my opinion, is splitting by "&", and then selecting the amount of listeners for the artist that has the highest amount of listeners ("X & Y", "X", or "Y"). Any other splits I should consider?

huh

Scored 86.2%, not surprising. Most of the Japanese artists I listen to don't have huge last.fm followings.

Your taste in music is more obscure than 85.8% of the users who have used this tool.

>1111 Essential Recordings of Music
Avant Math God is that you?

This is my top 50 artists. I don't think it's obscure, it's just in relation to other last.fm listeners.

Unironically this.
