op-1 are so nice, lucky

Thanks man. Just starting to kind of wrap my head around it and getting familiar with the sequencers and such. Pretty new to synths in general, but having a lot of fun just jamming. Kind of set a goal by the end of the may to have a completed track incorporating the op-1, grandmother, and a guitar track. We’ll see how it goes

decided to use my stimulusbuxx on a Korg Volca Beats and Monologue. I'm excited to dive into hardware synthesis after waffling on it for years~

you're really easy to trace on this board, you know that?

>lucky
what do you mean?
you don't need any luck to get an OP-1, you only need about 1200$

I've never I understood anything about synths.

What are people trying to accomplish?
How are they different to keyboard?
What are all those wires snaking across different coloured blocks?
What the hell is a sign wave?
What are they all trannies?

It's just a baffling, maddening enigma.

cringe and retardpilled

For me, today, it’s Buchla

Wow such a detective

It makes different sounds that make your band sound better and have more integrity

It's more than just the noises though. The people who are into this scene just reek of being proper weirdo trekky type nerds instead of the usual muso geeks. I mean look at the instruments themselves, they look like toys aimed at children, not tools for men to make music.

Should I get a Microkorg? I have zero experience with synths but it seems like everyone has them so it must have some kind of versatility. Are they good with guitar pedals?

Synths are a fantastic combo with guitar pedals. The microkorg is pretty cool and sells well for a reason, but shop around and see what you like.

Theres basically two ways of making electronic music. The first way is you can just buy sample packs and make songs with the step sequencer in FL studio. The second way is you can use synths to make your own samples. It just depends on what your preference is and what you're trying to do.

huh?

It would be more practical to just buy sample packs. But where so you think the samples come from in the first place? I guess you could say it's a chicken and the egg type thing.

Based

Cute cat and camera, too bad you fell for the op1 meme.

I love my OP-1. I realize its limitations and some of the ways it does things is a pain in the ass, but its a very capable synth.

Physical Modeling = Electroacoustic > Analog > Samplers

>tfw the synths you want will never go on sale or be found for cheap so u just need to bite the bullet and just fucking buy it

I fucked this up I meant electromechanical not electroacoustic, electroacoustics are dope too though

I want a Voltage Lab
