IV

this album is really good
thank you to the user who mentioned it two threads ago

The four albums they put out in the 70s.
I prefer their second and third albums, but it's really good.

Such a groovy record. Their best imo.

Self Titled and IV are their masterpieces.

bump

Looking for synth heavy prog

Was it really that bad?

Better than tormato

Friendly reminder that kraut isn't really prog. Krautrock favors minimalism while British prog clearly doesn't.

Friendly reminder that krautrock isn't a genre.

This threads are always a circle jerk of the same albums. Post some more obscure recs, hidden gems

Jakki was a great drummer. The beginning of the drum section from Bel Air always gets me. And the bass is what makes it so goddamn groovy

Check this out. Some Indonesian psych prog from the '70s.

>this sperg again
Listen to Amon Düül II and tell me again how minimalist they are

The bigger joke is when you realize how many UK prog artists were in fact influenced by minimalism, like Robert Fripp and Mike Oldfield.

It's an amazing, amazing record. But I would not call it Prog.

Currently listening to Rock Bottom.

If you like Mission of Burma, check out their side project Birdsongs of the Mesozoic. Their s/t EP and Magnetic Flip album are some really cool avant-prog. Not punk like Mission of Burma at all.

Brian Eno, Roxy Music as well

Huge MoB fan tbqh, I've read about Birdsongs of the Mesozoic but never listened to them - I think I'll give the EP a listen now. Roger Miller is an insanely talented man. Cheers !

I just realized that the bands are BoM and MoB.

Mike Oldfield is prog for moms.

I wish my mom were into Mike Oldfield.

Lol. Big brain move. I haven't found a working a link for the EP yet, in the meantime - keeping up with the theme of Avant Punk bands going Avant Prog - Here's Camberwell Now, formed by the members of This Heat a year or two after Deceit.
