Matt Sharp

Cliff Burton

Peter Steele - does it still count if it's also the frontman?

Only from Animals to The Final Cut

les claypool

Semi-agree but I can't imagine Primus without Ler's weird-ass guitar playing.

The Doors bassist

90% of post punk bands

The bass is like half of what you can hear as well, especially on stuff on Bloody Kisses and October Rust. You only start to hear the guitars on World Coming Down because Kenny's actually allowed to play riffs on that album.

Pete Wentz?

Without him they were a fairly bog-standard hard rock band, as proved when toured without him a few years back

And he did it without any musical skills!

Roger waters should really be an inspiration to skill-less people everywhere. Couldn’t play guitar, couldn’t really play bass, couldn’t sing, and still managed to dominate a band of more talented musicians then he and become one of the most successful acts of all time

he mightve carried them in a wagon maybe

>more talented musicians
everyone in pink floyd was shit at their instruments

>syd barrett
couldn't play anything conventional for shit so just randomly went up and down guitar with a slide or strummed on acoustic like an autistic vegetable
>rick wright
had absolutely no ear for melody and harmony and instead relied on "textures"
>nick mason
whenever anything other than a simple 4/4 had to be played he was swiftly replaced by a session musician, pathetic lmao
>david gilmour
a 3rd rate wannabe blues guitarist who learned two licks he keeps using over and over and "compensates" his lack of technical skill by playing ridiculously simple slow solos that are singable
>roger waters
lol

They only tour as Lizzy as a tribute to Phil. They don't record new music under that name. Though, I'd say it was his charisma as a frontman that carried them rather than his bass playing. Their sound was defined more by the dueling guitar leads.

He was a good song writer

Maybe it proves that’s the only thing you really need

Absolutely based.

This guy is a retard

fuck you seething pink floyd fan lmao

how soon they forget

The best example of this I can think of.

QOTSA went to shit after Olivieri

all 3 are equally important to the band's sound. every primus fan knows this

Yeah.... no one was buying STP records to hear the bass, sorry.

mike kerr?

That doesn’t mean shit. His bass lines make the band

I thought that was Robert Deniro
