I made a spotify playlist made up of Yas Forumssicians, so we can all follow/like each others profiles and rack up some recommendations. This is a community project and it only works if everyone in involved contributes. Dumping your track and running isn't going to do anything for expanding your demographic if no one is listening, liking, following, etc, so make sure you're doing so. If you want your track added -
>Go through the playlist and like every track >Go through the playlist and follow every artist >Follow the playlist and spin it often
As the playlist grows, I'll cycle older tracks out, so keep up with the threads and make sure you follow all new artists. Trying to keep it around 1hr max. Please be considerate of song length as well, had a few people wanting 13-18 min tracks on it, it's a bit overkill. try to keep it 5-6 minutes at most.
We noticed last thread that having your music across multiple playlists with "bigger" artists that are in a similar genre makes your song more likely to appear in the "Recommended" and "daily list" sections of Spotify.
>What you can do Take 4 or 5 Yas Forumssicians that sound similar and add them to a playlist. Add another 10 or so big musicians that fit the genre to that playlist and shuffle the tracks around so the playlist sounds nice. Share that playlist here so we can play it a few times and rack up algorithmic associations.
Great. Want to chat about results? Trying to gauge how well it's doing but haven't had my own project on in like 2 weeks.

Was there talk of a discord at some point?
Henry Miller
I have a discord with 2 regulars on it. The idea was to give my password to these 2'people to do the threads/playlists as I'm a key worker in a hospital and didn't think I'd have time, but turns out coronavirus ain't shit and we're coping really well. The discord is pretty much abandoned and the regulars aren't on the playlist so much, so good thing I didn't do this.
I was also looking at reaching out to Hype Generator via Discord but haven't got round to it yet.
Adrian Davis
Results are pretty good actually, I got an avrg of 30 listens a day since the beginning of April basically from these threads.
Which track did you want dude? That's s link to the album.
Are you following everyone?
Gavin Taylor
Sadly no recommanded associations but I had 1 listener from a 'Radio' made by spotify now that I loom at it. I'm just about to schedule a release for another single so I hope that will help too. How did it work out for you?
Luis Morgan
My band were getting a few algorithmic plays and were featured in a targeted playlist, but we haven't released anything lately and we haven't been in the playlist for a while now. No time for recording with lockdown and shit. Glad you're seeing some results though, try the advice in see if you can take your music to the next level bud
Carter Johnson
oops, probably Let You. and yeah, i'm working through it now. i don't actually use spotify as my main streaming service so i only have a free account on my phone, which only lets me go to the artist profiles to follow them once i'm playing the song
Landon Kelly
Added bud, remember to keep up with the threads I try to keep the playlist under an hour at this point so remember to check in and let us know if you notice any positive developments.
James Parker
Good idea, I'll try it. Thanks man You can at least use the lockdown for writing or better your skills, good luck!
Brayden Lee
Cheers my dude. You have any more tracks coming out?
