Does anyone still listen to Brand New, or is their legacy just utterly destroyed forever by the Jesse Lacey allegations? I find it hard to swallow that they released some of the absolute best rock albums of the 21st century (hell, best albums of any genre), and yet they will all be forgotten and shittalked forever now, all because of what Jesse did. It just seems so sad, bros.

It is sad what internet mobs have done to all entertainment but yes brand news demise is particularly shitty for me since I never got to see them live, missed them on three occasions for bullshit reasons beyond my control. I hope they reform or Jesse releases new music solo. Here's hoping.

i know what my own perception of their music is and that's what i care about. if anything jesse being a creep makes some of the lyrics that much more prescient, honestly. it's not some incongruous thing where he was moralfagging, the self loathing was there for what it's worth
