Exactly. When you see certain artists get shilled persistently and obsessively, and they are not actually good enough to warrant regular discussion, there is clearly something else going on. No one would give a fuck about Absurd for instance if that incel didn't kill a guy and didn't occasionally heil Hitler. Whereas Goatlord had a member who killed his neighbors, but the band otherwise has little edge factor, so you rarely see them mentioned.

I felt the same way after the first couple of listens, but to me at least, it's the kind of album that takes a lot of spins to really unwrap fully. Stick with it, it's worth it imo
