Incredibly basic and boring beat. There's no bass, no spice, drier than hillary duffs cooter. 2/5
It had a nice rhythm but it just becomes devoid of any sense of direction and tries too hard to be artsy. There's some interesting sounds but execution us poor
1/5
Alright here's an instrumental reinterpretation I made of Mount Eerie

new tune i made over the weekend, thanks for the feedback in other threads anons.
you got a style you're going for so no hate but the production on No Slope sounded discordant and kinda jarring to me. i like the percussion tho, nice drum pattern going on.
golded plate has some cool audio manipulation on the percussion, the hissing tape sound could have been mixed in a bit lower though it overwhelms the rest of your sounds.
appreciate the feedback you gave me! wanted to check out some of your other stuff and raise a demon has dope bass kick rhythms going on.
always a treat coming back to your stuff and seeing the new material, umbral is perfect for this warm sunday afternoon. the glitchy sounds are tickling my ears in good ways lmao.
you got the energy, the blown out style works for you.

3/5 its boring, needs crazier vocals
i rate gnaw a 4/5, i like the vocal filter and instrumentation but i feel like the noises dont fit in some areas and the outro is a bit drawn out. nice split with apistat btw

You haven't changed it yet? Why make a new thread with this demo? Do what I told you. The snare is really lacking punch, it has a terrible tone and is so quiet and watered down in the mix. Also the beat overall is SEVERELY predictable and shows absolutely no personality. You really need to reevaluate what your goals are as a musician because you are not getting a grasp on the simple basics on hip hop production. You should really consider getting musicians who know what they're doing to help you produce your stuff. Plus I have a few suggestions (keep in mind I don't 100% know what your song is builtout of, depending on how many layers you have in the song will affect these suggestions)
1. EQ every instrument to a different
frequency range. That way nothing is
on top of eachother sonically, if
multiple instruments are "stacked" they
will squash the loudness when you
master the track,
3. Mix. mix everything now after the new
EQing, and wile mixing, EQ the master
track with each section (bass, mid, high)
you should be able to have each
section really shining to their maxamumm
now that no instruments will be squshing
the power.
2. Mastering, after you have everything
EQd and mixed, master the song by
compressing (not too much!) the
master track, and slowly turn up the gain- not all
the way. adjust the any EQing in the
master track now if you've noticed
any issues but you shouldn't be EQing
all that much (if at all!!!) Slowly turn up
the gain again until the master volume
is hitting 0. Tada! a perfect LOUD mix!
Go crazier with your style. Don't pussyfoot around your genre.
You need to Learn how to boost your bass. I can help you out quite a bit if you ask,but To make a beginner bass,
get a defult patch in Harmor,
turn the low-pass on A to 10%
and 0% on B,
and then turn the Sub up on both
A and B,
next turn on some slight distortion
and then EQ the sub in the mixer
up all the way.

3 - chill, not very exciting if that's what you're goingfor
3.5 - interesting i think you should try experimenting more with layering this stuff and mixing it well

Work on the EQ of your kick tampers
Uh oh! Looks like you got plebfiltered! :D
Hmmmm.. bro heres a tip for getting your guitars to actually sound heavy:
Turn knobs marked "gain" or "overdrive"
all the way up. Turn other volume
knobs down to get the loudness
you want. Once you've proved
you can get heavy distortion,
dial things back to find the tone
you want. Focus on being LOUD!!
Some amps won't distort at low
volumes, mainly because that's
dumb as all hell LOL. If yours is like
this, either just play loud or give up!!!!
Go crazier bro.
I like the crazy slowed clyp you posted in the other thread bro.
Ok, so Polyrhythms are more important than you beginner producers think. You think"duhh Im st00pid so I du kick one 1 and snare on da 3, yay!" But that's pathetic. Man up and experiment with legitimate beats and rhythms. You should learn about Complex Flow. It's an important aspect to enjoyable beats. Once you man up and start trying to create something great instead of something that will go "viral" (which NEVER do, if that's what you aim for... HA!) But whatever, I can rant to you all day and you'll still be making generic beats.

shitskin music only plebfilters goats, babe
3/5 I would go more wild with the production and vocals but I like the overall feel of it
5/5 can't find anything wrong with this
4/5 regarding umbral I would probably push even further the asmr sounds and turn that into a little chaotic moment at some point
5/5 trying to improve on this would just turn it into something different, the track sounds like smoking weed in a dream
4/5 really lit songs on that new ep, I would probably go crazier with the drums and structure
3/5 great dreamy atmosphere on the beat, I would probably try adding sections that are more contrasting in sound so the chorus hits harder and the sound doesn't get stale, some vocals would go great on it too

I would rate umbral 5/5. I like cavity a lot too, but it lacks the same level of progression as umbral. Despite the fact that I find your more raw aggressive styles more viscerally pleasing, I think umbral is the best piece of "music." It is moving. The sound design is also really cool too.
It's always nice to see a fellow drum and bass head on Yas Forums. You might think I am a genrefag for DnB, and will give this a 5 for that reason. But no, this is a solid 3/5. The pad sounds, bass and vocals are very pleasing. However, the mastering leaves a lot of loudness on the table, and playback on my laptop speakers isn't satisfying at all. This song is a pleasing aural experience on headphones, and has some simple progression. However it lacks the complexity, depth, and finishing touches of a pro DnB track. Keep up the good work though, you have lots of potential.

0/5 it's just harsh noise. ?
5/5 for Subsurface Scattering. Actually super dope. I added it to my likes.
3/5 I don't like the distortion in this. I'm a fan of distortion, but this is too dirty for me. The beat is a little boring. The high-pass sweep fade-out as an outro is unique, but with the distortion, it becomes a bit too buzzy
5/5 super nice.
lol
4/5 pretty cool. nice builds. cinematic
5/5 nice, chill, clean. super good combination of instruments, everything blends very well

2 sounds like butt rock with metal passages thrown in. if i could give a pointer i would say to try to blend the two styles instead of separating them.
