That doesn't matter because jazz was once pop and so was rock. However rap is a distinct music categorized by brain dead mostly stolen loops and black people doing stupid shit over it. It gets it's own genre unlike say metal which is rock played fast with distortion
Utterly worthless. The fact that he was probably a great guy and wrote smart, heartfelt lyrics doesn't save it even one bit. If you are interested in words, read poetry. There is a lot of heartfelt, good poetry which addresses similar things in way less direct way, being able to keep multiple layers of both feeling and meaning.

I like early tracks of Led Zeppelin, Dark Side of the Moon, Townes van Zandt, Stephen Stills, Elliot Smith, Neil Young, My Favorite Things, Straightforward tracks of Esbjörn Svensson, Keith Jarret, lot's of uk electronic music with cut up drums from 90s, Fleetwood Mac, Leonard Cohen, Beatles, Rolling Stones, many songs of Lana del Rey, some songs of Red Hot Chilli Peppers, some songs of Kylie Minogue. I guess these are enough to tell you what I like. There are levels of being losers. At last years race I came 4th. Although I was a loser, I was a different loser than the guy who came 14th.
