I made a spotify playlist made up of Yas Forumssicians, so we can all follow/like each others profiles and rack up some recommendations. This is a community project and it only works if everyone in involved contributes. Dumping your track and running isn't going to do anything for expanding your demographic if no one is listening, liking, following, etc, so make sure you're doing so. If you want your track added -
>Go through the playlist and like every track >Go through the playlist and follow every artist >Follow the playlist and spin it often
As the playlist grows, I'll cycle older tracks out, so keep up with the threads and make sure you follow all new artists. Trying to keep it around 1hr max. Please be considerate of song length as well, had a few people wanting 13-18 min tracks on it, it's a bit overkill. try to keep it 5-6 minutes at most.
Interesting thing today - for one of my other playlists with a few Yas Forumssicians on it I scrolled through the "Recommended Songs" thing and added any songs I recognised from our guys. The people I think have the highest "links" to other songs in playlist are Jabobo, Lucid Liars, Pools View and Arcwords (these are the only ones that showed up until the list finished and they were added). I noticed these guys have diverse listener bases as well compared to some of the other people on the playlist.
Any ideas what this means and how we can encourage more "links" between the artists?

It probably comes down to networking with as many people as possible. Poolview and I are in a separate playlist too.
Yeah there's a bug or something bud that's been happening a lot, that's a link to your album as well. Which track?

Good Timing. Not even Spotify is safe from a bug.

Yep it's awfully coincidental. Added dude, remember to give it a spin.

Will do, OP. I appreciate it

ooo me me! i want some exposure for my music!
holy cow tho! lots of new faces this time around. wanna listen actively so imma spin while im jogging and then some more when im bummming around and mayhaps while i sleep tonight and tomorrow night.
Added bud make sure to keep it spinning. You noticed any algorithmic plays? Added to any playlists you weren't expecting? You're a consistent guy that's been on the playlist since the beginning after all.
I think a big part is just inclusion on a handful of other playlists too, which is beyond what you can do here for the most part. I don't remember which spotify thread suggested it, but someone suggested making playlists including Yas Forumsfolk and major artists they sound sorta similar to, as that might cause the spotify algorithm to associate the Yas Forums artists with the major artists. I made a few playlists like that, so maybe that helped.

>I don't remember which spotify thread suggested it, but someone suggested making playlists including Yas Forumsfolk and major artists they sound sorta similar to Yeah that was this thread. The idea was confusing to most people so I stopped mentioning it. Did the other 3 artists make it to your playlists? Sounds interesting but I don't know how to explain it properly.
Wow that's a step in the right direction. We were added to a few local playlists with the COVID-19 thing as the venues we used to play at are closed but want to keep their Facebook feeds buzzing. Maybe multiple playlists/listeners helped?

Yeah sure bud. I think it's a bit like Jabobo guy says here it's a combination of things. I noticed you guys added playlists to your profile as well, that's supposed to help algorithmic associations too. How are you finding things are going? You've been here for a while. Notice more plays from various sources?
