He’s only hated by the soul/soulless posters who are scared to death of music theory and have never listened to classical or jazz for more than a minute at a time. I don’t like the music he makes, but his channel is fun to watch sometimes.

it's interesting stuff. Not amazing but some of his videos are cool. Yas Forums will inevitably have hate for every celebrity close to their board. there are no fully Yas Forums approved music journalists, critics, youtubers, etc.

He's a good music YouTuber overall. He knows what he's talking about and his vids cover useful topics. And best of all, he's infinitely less cringe than MusicIsWin. But I have very little interest in listening to his original music.

He gets to make music and travel the world and have fun jam sessions for a living, on top of his Youtube channel. Most of his haters have accomplished nothing in their lives.

its called having taste. some people have it, some dont. thats the way the world works. aerial pink was shitting out better music as a kid than neely was after years of studying music.

he's a pretty cool guy. you can tell he puts a lot of effort into researching his theory videos.
His band is also pretty cool for what it is.

Exactly, Jimi Hendrix just put two stick together and randomly found the 7#9 chord, which randomly was an interesting sonic idea because he just randomly realized that a chord with both a major third and a minor third an octave apart was randomly good sounding, which randomly coincided with theory surrounding extended tertiary chords, which randomly correlates to the major and minor blues scales, which hendrix himself was randomly entrenched in

jimi is a better song writer than neely simply put. you could have studied 5 years at a musical college and STILL write shitty music. songwriting is not something that comes easy, even for those well knowledged in music.
