this project took me over 4 years to complete, and encompasses over 200 songs I've made compressed into a 45 minute album, one track.
The sounds may be familiar, like a noise record. Consider this, I myself tend to be a bit manic and move in distinct phases. I am now subverting my past as a rapper and essentially sampling my life

Listened to 'Untied', really good noise/breakcore, production is very clean.
Could have had some more variations on guitar, but was decent nonetheless.

You've been really scared of good advice, so at this point there's only one thing left for a lazy musician like you. Here's what you should really do:
-1st buy fl studio,
its all you need at 1st
-2nd make a kick/snare rythem
-invite some producers over to
hang out and get them to help geta
melody / bassline idea
-3rd get some studio time,
4th, get some experienced
producers to work with you during
your session(s)
5th let them do whatever they want
to the song to make it good.
6th DONE! you have a new song
you can upload online and start
blowing up!
So I really need to explain one thing to you. Polyrhythms are more important than you beginner producers think. You think"duhh Im st00pid so I du kick one 1 and snare on da 3, yay!" But that's pathetic. Man up and experiment with legitimate beats and rhythms. You should learn about Complex Flow. It's an important aspect to enjoyable beats. Once you man up and start trying to create something great instead of something that will go "viral" (which NEVER do, if that's what you aim for... HA!) But whatever, I can rant to you all day and you'll still be making generic beats.
I can hear the degradation of sound quality. Are you exporting as an MP3 and then back to WAV???? WHY. But here's a tip.
1st step: Save your project as a .txt document
2nd step: Open .txt document in notepad
3rd step: Write in the mixing you want
(example:
"bass +2Hz ,
Hi-hats left speaker only. etc)
4th step: Save .txt document as aud. file
use a conversion program if needbe
5th step: Open .aud file in Audacity .
6th step: Enjoy
You now have a perfect mix!
Good stuff

each post to show off my personality. The way you
post makes you look like
a stale piece of toast sitting

This is some seriously low-testosterone music. Embarrassing. Bro heres a tip for getting your guitars to actually sound heavy:
Turn knobs marked "gain" or "overdrive"
all the way up. Turn other volume
knobs down to get the loudness
you want. Once you've proved
you can get heavy distortion,
dial things back to find the tone
you want. Focus on being LOUD!!
Some amps won't distort at low
volumes, mainly because that's
dumb as all hell LOL. If yours is like
this, either just play loud or give up
Good stuff
Dogs don't drypost
Yeah seriously 99% of EDM out there is cookie cutter. That's why people hate my music, I'm actually trying to change the genre up instead of pooping while listening to kicks hit on 1 and 3 saying yup! that's finished!"
Boost your bass bro
Me &
Pretty boring stuff. Try doing more than just pushing one button.
Ok, here's what you really need to know. Bass is integral to music. It's is the true backbone to all music. Drums/Beats are ONLY rhythm, and guitars/synths etc are ONLY melody. But bass? Bass is BOTH. That's why bass makes or breaks a song. So when in doubt BOOST it out!
Years ago the music industry
was deregulated and lofi became a
thing. So I dunno what you think
you're doing by being a legit
response to the things real
musicians like me do to stop the
degeneration of music. And for real
bro, lofi? Come on......Bro, "lofi"
isn't a safeword to avoid criticism
on EQing and mastering. It's not
just to clean up sound quality, EQ is
to make space for all the elements
to fit together. If multiple elements
of a mix occupy similar frequency
ranges and attempt to fit into the
same space, the result will often
sound muddy, and basically just a
MESS, it doesn't sound "indie" or
whatever you shmucks say its like,
its just embarrassing.

Finish setting up your soundcloud account. Also, The problem I have with 99% of "musicians" who sample other people's work is LONGG.
The big thing is with these digital sound sampling devices, back in the day my sh!t was ANALOG bro, do you even know what analog means? Whatever, anyway these digital systems are, we are told, music mimics par excellence, able to render the whole orchestral panoply, plus all that grunts, or squeaks.
The noun "sample" is, in our comodified culture,pre-fixed by the adjective free, FREE. as in STEALING. So now you're
lying about being an artist and if one is to consider predicating this subject, perhaps some thinking aloud on what is not allowable auditory appropriation is to be heard.
Some of you, current and potential samplerists are confused, I KNOW you're confused, and it's about the extent to which you can legally borrow from the ingredients of other people's sonic manifestations. Is a musical property properly private, and when and how does one trespass upon it? Like myself, you may covet something similar to a particular chord played and recorded singularly well by the strings of the estimable Eastman Rochester Orchestra on a long-deleted Mercury Living Presence LP of Charles Ives' Symphony #3 and you're thinking "Oh no, welp here's another song down the DRAIN"!

LOL Bro. You are severely confused.
This isn't heavy enough bro. I dunno why you're too scared of my advice to make your guitars actually sound heavy. Whatever, I still have lots to teach you so let's move on. Most rock music uses the same chords and sounds that other bands have played millions of times throughout history sent through devices that modify the sound in similar ways that other bands have done millions of times throughout history. The difference is the modification of the sound that can be different (analogous to using effects on a given sound you've sampled) and the sounds are put into a different order (which is something you do when you sample stuff too). And you don't need to use already existing sounds if you're sampling. You can record or play your own sounds to use. This isn't the most common thing to do but it is something that's done.

I can see why you're not a professional. Dogs don't drypost bro. What do you really expect to get out of a feedback thread? All you'll get is a slap on the wrist about actually participating. You didn't even post a picture or "rec" like all of the rookies. You should TRY to be more like a grandfather like me. I'm here to help embarrassing beginnings like you.
Your beats are a bit generic and
I recognize the Samples.
the sample sounds like it was
recorded to a MINI-V06.5 440Hz
AIVNDAW with a live band going
straight on out to the QP and then
through a console, and the drums
are coming from a drum machine,
synth, or stock DAW drum
samples, chances are the context
won’t make sense, you should
always focus on that crispy sound
quality bro.
In my mind I’m thinking “ok, what
can I do to make these drums
sound better, like they BUMP to the
sample, but still stick out and hit
hard?” Bro... Think about it like this,
it might mean you have to be
processing to the sample, or
processing to the drums, or both.
And generally needssome
experimentation to make it BOOM
in the speaker. And also mmatching
the space is super key. This isn’t
easy, it takes a really ADVANCED
ear like mine. But if you can train
yourself to listen to the ambience in
the sample and recreate that
ambience around the drums, but
don't get confused. You follow?
Next turn up the EQ low end (bass)
and ta-da you're better.
Me &
Props
I have a few suggestions (keep in mind I don't 100% know what your song is builtout of, depending on how many layers you have in the song will affect these suggestions)
1. EQ every instrument to a different
frequency range. That way nothing is
on top of eachother sonically, if
multiple instruments are "stacked" they
will squash the loudness when you
master the track,
3. Mix. mix everything now after the new
EQing, and wile mixing, EQ the master
track with each section (bass, mid, high)
you should be able to have each
section really shining to their maxamumm
now that no instruments will be squshing
the power.
2. Mastering, after you have everything
EQd and mixed, master the song by
compressing (not too much!) the
master track, and slowly turn up the gain- not all
the way. adjust the any EQing in the
master track now if you've noticed
any issues but you shouldn't be EQing
all that much (if at all!!!) Slowly turn up
the gain again until the master volume
is hitting 0. Tada! a perfect LOUD mix
