pitchfork was right
Pitchfork was right
That art is the equivalent of menstruation paintings but for the menopausical.
If by Pitchfork you mean Fantano then yes I agree
the album has a wide variety of themes, its misogynistic to discount it as such.
So, do you want to be an edgy anti-feminist that's stuck in the past?
KEK
Imagine unironically saying this
Do you hate women?
Fiona is just honestly expressing herself.
And there are a lot of problems in the male/female dynamic. Women have been the butt of the joke in that dynamic a lot of the times. Of course it should go both ways and women should take responsibility for their part as well, and in some scenes that isn't happening enough. but that's a pretty small world, but if you focus on it, it can shape your worldview around that pretty small group of people. The media bro.
thanks for the laugh bud
people are blowing this out of proportion because its a "YOU GO GIRL/YASS QUEEN SLAAY!!" album by a well liked and established musician. everyone did this same shit with lemonade. album is good but its no masterpiece in my shitty opinion.
Fiona focuses on herself more than on the songs. This is why she suffers at a songwriter. The songs aren't that good anyway. A lot of lines repeated over and over and has the veneer of something deep and interesting more than it actually is. She should focus on writing good songs first, and then focus on putting herself into the songs secondly.
True, but its themes emotionally impact alot of women so naturally they will praise it
wake me up when weyes blood makes a new album that lass can write a tune
bait

yeah but you dont need to be in the hood or black to appreciate hiphop. It will probably impact some black people who have been living in the hood more. but people who don't have that experience can like it in their own ways. Like for learning how live in the hood is, and what it's like to be a female (apple specifically) these days.
Fantano is a pleb and so is his fanbase
>ironically listen to this meme shit
>ironically reading pitchfork
>ironically watching fantano
You're still giving it attention even by calling it bait.
Sounded like shit to me, I heard a whole bunch of noise not music
I can make a better song tapping a stick on a garbage can
True, but i think you're underestimating the impact lyrics can have for people with certain experiences
yeah, good point
finally another based mu postere
lyrics are almost entirely irrelevant. If you want "good lyrics" in music you're better off reading poetry. If the music of an artist is unsatisfactory despite having good lyrics then their work is entirely useless and that applies to this album.
It's great but Idler Wheel is still her masterpiece
honestly the more i listen to ot the more i like it. probably would have initially liked it alot more if it hadnt been given absurdly good praise
cringe mom music
>This Is America is musically superior to For Her by any metric and by a considerable margin
>Innocent people being murdered, particularly by the state, is no less serious an issue than rape
>Even if you give This Is America a ten, then it stands to logic that For Her must be given a lower rating
>Therefore, For Her can not be a ten.
not almost entirely irrelevant imo, but you get can get like 90% of an album's meaning by just listening to the music as sound in my opinion. vocal inflections, high/low screaming, soft loud. delivery etc.
>Innocent people being murdered, particularly by the state, is no less serious an issue than rape
Often, being murdered is much less painful than living with being raped.
I've known people who were raped by their parents as a child. Many of them lead sad lives.
Embarrassingly bad bouncy twitter slam poetry with a quirky version of elevator music as a background. Culture is dead, music is dead. Popular music has been declining in quality every year and it is reaching unfathomable depths of shit.
Adult people forever stuck in a mass psychosis, in a grade school tier war of the sexes scenario.
This might have been impressive as an art school project if she was 12.
I notice women have a hard time making lyrical sense due to the fact that they don't have real feelings and are not human.
white girls genuinely do not understand the concept of other people being sentient and having their own opinions
AOTY just dropped and you're discussing some subpar Singer/Songwriter. How close minded are you guys?
Do americans unironically listen to Russian soviet era rock artists now?
I'm not American, also it's AOTY. I don't care about countries, if music is good I like it. You should stop being so close minded and stop labeling art by it's region.
I cringe when I see people enjoying kino without speaking russian, 90% of it is the lyrics
This isn't Kino ffs, not every Russian band is Kino or Letov. Auktyon was always based and the lyrics don't play a big role.
well Idk the first track is annoying
title track seems ok
