>The richest artist in the world

Also the richest autist.
That'd have to be Musk, wouldn't it?
looks miserable lol
literally shakira has more money. He isn't even top 25
not yet, jay z (and possibly dr dre?) are still ahead of him
im glad its him and not some of the people you guys like
He is now worth at least 1.3 billion, more than any other artist in the world.
Wasnt he like $50mil in debt a few years ago?
Bloomberg says he's 3 billion
Also the whitest black man in the world
was
you're right, but it's only because of his dumb shoes. Can't wait for that shitty trend to die out, most new shoes suck nowadays because of him
Honestly I think that net worth estimate is likely a load of horseshit. Remember a few years ago: they estimated Kylie's net worth at 900 Million, but it was later revealed to be a reaction of that.
Kanye is definitely very wealthy, but you should take these estimates with a grain of salt. I bet artists like Paul McCartney, Jay Z, Dr. Dre, and others are probably still wealthier than Kanye.
I typed "reaction" but I meant fraction.
Net worth isn't just how much money one has, but the sum of the value of all their assets.
In this case his fashion stuff is valued that high because of how much money it earns PLUS the money it will potentially make in the future.
For example, if I own a publicly traded pharmaceutical company that makes vaccines that's valued at $10M, and I find out that one of my vaccines is 100% effective against COVID-19, just the news of this would multiply the value of my company overnight, even before any money is made from it. Simply because of projected earnings.
Or in other words, Kanye's net worth isn't that much because he has that much, but because he has a golden goose that WILL make him that huch over time.
Yeah, I get that. But I'm still sceptical about these estimates. Forbes estimated 1.3 Billion while Kanye says he's worth over 3 billion. That's a pretty big difference.
Since Yeezy isn't a public company, how can anyone be certain what a company is really worth? He sells shoes, produces low volume luxury clothes, and builds domes out in Wyoming. This seems like an operation that would be very costly to run. He would share the shoe revenue with adidas and I would be shocked if the fashion and architecture was even close to profitable.
Again, I have no doubt that Kanye is a very wealthy man. But I am skeptical that the Yeezy brand is actually worth billions of dollars.
So that's why kanye's all pro trump then huh
kek
my nigga hates taxes
and building ordinances
get woke go broke
get rich get republican
There is an interesting correlation between unsuccessful people and leftist politics. The exception is the celebrity world, which is obviously more prone to virtue signalling.
There's a correlation between rich people and being republican because people are inherently selfish. That doesn't mean corporatism and a dominating wealthy class is the morally correct answer
Both are neurotypicals and their wacky behavior in the press is calculated.
Yeah I'll agree to that. But I find its better to try to play the game and win than to try to replace the game with a worse one. Contrary to Berniebro belief, it is possible to become successful in a capitalist system without being a psychopathic monster.
literally how
I mean the obvious response being the only other alternative is having the success just he handed to you by psychopaths, as well as the fact that being a psychopath CAN get you that far to the detriment of millions also being a problem.
Yeah, you're right. But if a psychopath hands me success on a silver platter, I'm gonna take it. Most of all, I really just don't trust people to improve my life through some sort of socialist set up. So I'd rather just play along and hope things work out for me.
Well we'll still be here in the event that it doesn't work out for you so good luck with all that.
Thanks. There is not going to be a socialist uprising in America ever so I hope it works out for you too.
BASED. Also he made the greatest album of our generation.
Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) invested in salmon aquaculture in the late 1970's with his rockstar money and became a multi-billionaire because the industry grew rapidly in market share. Dude owns several Scottish castles now and shit. Not sure if he's the wealthiest musician or not but he's up there.
Conversely, Ray Davies' music generated over $200 million worth of royalties but he's only worth about $5 mil nowadays because he was an untreated bipolar disorder case back in the day and got fucked over brutally on royalties.
Most of this has to do with non-musical factories.
lol what did u forget zuckerberg
I agree. Until we see how exactly that estimate has been calculated it's hard to tell how accurate it is, and desu I don't care enough to research so whatever.

I'd imagine that the value doesn't come directly from the company but from the brand itself, which is what makes his products generate the revenue.
