For me, its Happy Hardcore
For me, its Happy Hardcore
why do hipsters like this shit now? back in the 00s we considered this shit very low brow terrible music
I got into it in 2007, before it was trendy.
>before it was trendy.
has it ever been trendy?
13k listening to it live on twitch
people seem to be more, uh, forgiving of it now.
I can ride or die for a stupid genre like HH if I want to. Ive seen far worse on this board.
100 Gecs certainly draws from it
im not on twitch, is that a lot ?
Where?
back in the 00s you got filtered, happens
which era is best?
for me, its the 2000's UK sound
Favorite hardcore producer? Ill always have a soft spot for Scott Brown.
For you, it's dicks in the ass, all the time.

Anyone got a good hardcore playlist?

The breakbeat hardcore/happy hardcore transitional period was the peak of music.

I love it.

It's so cheesy, but it feels sincere at the same time.
At least i can say happy hardcore is both melodic (usually catchy) and hype as fuck. I don't understand how something like trap can be considered party music when it sounds so dull in comparison
trap is a snoozfest. if I wanted to fall asleep, id listen to trap
see, thats what's beautiful about happy hardcore, its absolutely childish, but honest. cringe but sincere, its happiness amplified, pure joy.
no other genre can cleanse your sins in beats and breaks and drops like happy hardcore. it will lift you up, take you away, and make you love again.
No he was right the first time

I went to an underground party for New Years with all the cool movers and shakers and art people in my city and they were dancing to happy hardcore, gabber, trap, and post-club type stuff. Happy hardcore seemed if any thing to go over best.
Which is gratifying for me because i was a raver in the late 90s, the youngest, last wave of the original rave movement and people my age seemed to appreciate it a lot more than the older people, and I've noticed younger millennials and zoomers like it more too.
I actually prefer when happy hardcore just becomes its own thing, although I like that crossover period too. Sometimes I think happy hardcore is the perfect rave music.
Don't know if you heard of the Happy 2B Hardcore compilation / mix series, was probably the most popular one but it covered a lot of the 90s era anthems. They're all up on youtube:
I was super stoked to get a chance to see Dougal with Darren Styles last year. Massively uplifting high energy party.
