Why do people barely talk about And You And I? That song is fucking beautiful

one good song on the album and its not that one

I always mention it, just that the title track is so titanic it overshadows it. Both 10/10 tracks.

I used to listen to this song on repeat when I first got into Yes' via my parents tapes. Second half sounds like the soundtrack to the creation of the world

To me, it's the peak of the record, and I mean that in a good way. The 'coming quickly to terms of all expression laid...' bit is just nuts, one of the most beautiful things on any album ever.

Are Close to the Edge and Fragile so flawless that their other albums sound worse or are they just not that great?

the yes album also has its transcendent godly peaks but and you and i is the best thing they ever did together. as soon as the song comes to "COMING QUICKLY TO TERMS OF ALL EXPRESSION LAID" i immediately just want to leave my body and drift with the dryads and wood-nymphs of the forest. a completely life-changing experience, especially in high school.

I don't actually enjoy Fragile that much for some reason, it's nowhere near CTTE for me. The Yes Album and Relayer are better.

this, also TFTO and Going for the One are good albums. Yes had an amazing run from CTTE to GFTO, but nothing can top Relayer

i remember crying to the ballad on Relayer (forget its name right now) because my girlfriend had just dumped me and that song reminds me so much of dancing together with people at balls and banquets and generally having a good time, and the scent associated with it was the perfume she left on her copy of the fault in our stars that she lent me to read
