I'll never listen to the discography of The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Joy Division, New Order, The Cure, The Ramones, The Strooges, etc. because they're so universally known that liking them adds nothing to my personal brand. Reccing them to someone isn't going to make them think I'm cool, it's basically like seeing "Have you seen The Godfather?" Who gives a fuck, everyone knows it, thats why I listen to music I genuinely like but isn't completely mainstream core, regardless of how critically acclaimed it is.
