This. Originality can be from innovation, experimentation, or synthesis. She doesn't really do any of those on here, it feels like it came out of mid 2010s nostalgia for 90s singer songwriters. Also the lyrics are drab.

If any album deserved the 10 it was Aviary. The fact they didn't even give it BNM makes me seethe. Why? Do americans really only review based on the lyrics? How was Fiona's album even close musically speaking to it?

She’s prolific in experimental music and doing collabs.
And you’re right, I mean she focuses on the music. She’s actually trained at a university level in performance and composition so she doesn’t really play into bullshit or hype cycles
