Im 29 years old

Its silly to try to make a hard rock band in 2020 and at my age ?

Never too old, man. Never.

Why does age matter? Just find people to form a band and have fun with it.

Don't look at it like it's too late to make it big or whatever. Look at it as a fun activity and a new way to meet friends, have fun.

it's not silly, but if you think you're gonna make any money off it, you're delusional (unless you're super fucking lucky (like winning the lottery twice, lucky)

If your goal is to make a hard rock band and have fun, it's not silly. If your goal is to make a hard rock band and become a superstar, you're not gonna make it.

Lemmy was like in his 30s when Motörhead hit it big.

just start a shitty garage band with your work buds.
i plan to do that when i'm like 35 and gainfully employed. everybody freaks out about shit like fame and success, i just wanna jam for god's sake.

hi mick

Why do you think that hard rock cant make a profit? I mean, there is not any new band basically

Thats true

Only if you want to perform in dive bars filled with jaded boomers for a living

One of my favourite rock bands got started in their late 20s/early 30s and they made consistently good shit for over 10 years.

I just turned 29 and i’m about to restart a 3 pieces noise rock band with my ex-drummer and some Ian Williams worshipper/guitarist. Feels like i’m 18 again, a little ridiculous lol.

But airbourne or greta van fleet plays in huge gigs... You think its imposible to reach that level?

>i just wanna jam for god's sake
I just need a reason to turn on the amp.

Awesome to hear that!

You say that because the style is quite "dead" (despite some succeful bands like the darkness, airbourne and greta) and trap is dominant now... Or just because you think its imposible that people appeal to such a thing like hard rock? I mean, i really want to make it big

From 18 to 27 i lost all my youth helping my family (i dont regret it at all) i play instruments since 6 and i made fully 13 song album andvrecorded every instrument influenced in motorhead, velvet revolver and all that stuff... I just want to know if this drwam i always had it can be reacheable... So i ask in this forum some opinions, i dont mind reality checks, at last i look like 25 haha

Honestly you'd have more success with ska

last time I checked music didn't have an age cap

If you ask then yes, please spare the world your pointless puttings forth, your music has nothing that must be said no matter what.

Thanks a lot for your opinion user :)

man i wanna make a 70s quebec-styled progressive folk band, don't give up your dream

That's sound really cool! If you recorded something i will give it a good listen!

Nah just do it

29 isn't that old, just do it. That do it, if you want to get anywhere you have to be way more "underground rock". You said you like Motorhead and Velvet Revolver? Well in that case Motorhead good, Velvet Revolver bad. See what I mean? Your target audience is going to be 25 to 35, maybe 22 at the youngest. We're all jaded hipsters, and don't like mainstream rock after say 1995? (Grunge is ok because it was "alternative") You can play to your classic hard rock influences, but you have to do it through the lens of the really broad spectrum of "alternative" and "indie" (the old meaning not the new meaning). See what I mean? You have a white SG instead of a red one. That is a good start. Now if you play that while wearing mostly monochrome or muted colored clothing, you've got a good look down.

As long as you take pride and joy then go for it

Man... Thats a really good opinion haha thank you so much... Whats wrong with velvet revolver? Haha is less mainstream than gnr for sure haha

I'm tryna do the same thing. Don't stop

Are you baiting me or not American? I think you need some sort've Yas Forums crash course if not bait.

Fact is if you were feeling a legitimate movement within you that truly needed expression you'd just do it regardless of anything. We're already saturated with "I have a band too!"s

Im not baiting at all man, im being really honest

Thank you so much for your opinion user

When i said that it was a good opinion i said it for real, you were telling me really good hints :)
