Slowdive is the only shoegaze band who's albums sound good to me.
They have the shoegaze aesthetics without it all sounding washed out in reverb or being excesively noisy.
I guess shoegaze is not for me.

I like Alcest you might too

well thats just rude

That's because they are dream pop. While most shoegaze has his roots from noise and rock music expecially, dream pop uses the classics verse bridge chorus formula which is way more accessible to the listener (except for songs like souvlaki space station and a few others of course). Plus the sounds aren't that abrasive or difficult like the Wall of Sound guitar effect of mbv but rather much more simple stuff like some reverbs and delays here and there. If you like Slowdive you'll like stuff like Ride or Candy Claws.

What about Lush? They are melodic too.

Souvlaki is okay, but I can't pinpoint anything on it that makes it unique or memorable.
It's a pleasant listen; Loveless has a whole different sound going for it that I can't find in other bands.
And you know what? Bowery Electric is higher on my list than Slowdive, too.
