The point of these threads is to encourage exploration, by listening to and discussing albums we've not heard before. Typically, this is done by making a chart of albums, then listening to and discussing one album from the chart each day. Expand your horizons!
finally finished my chart a while back. It'll be a while before I make another chart that big, jesus. I had a lot more 4's than I expected, favorite was probably MDK by magma, least favorite was that origami angel ep. this chart was all randomized form my backlog, next time it'll be more genre-restricted.
I-I've never been on /daily/ before...What's it like here?
Levi Young
Any recs from corbin - mourn? I love the dark sound of the production
Ethan Edwards
off-topic but I had one of those adds where it was LEGIT just a girl showing her tites, nipples and everything. Wasn't just a lewd/racy image, it was full blown nudity. How does hiro get away with that shit?
Juan Ward
just talk about music, with an emphasis on the expand your horizons. and no that doesn't mean only listening to scaruffi-core or shit like that. if we get more people and we can do a listenalong
Julian Powell
New little kid i am so hyped
Was it on Yas Forums? Would be surprised if so but i would expect it from a red board
dead nowadays whats up with coptic light being in everyones daily chart (in the ~5 dailies weve had the last two months)
Gabriel Ortiz
it was a BLUE board i swear, i didn't believe my eyes
Hudson Powell
that chart is from november, took my sweet time completing it. its a unique gem though
John Thomas
it was an active community 3+ish years ago at this point. we kinda moved to discord. basically it was the only place to actually discuss music on Yas Forums and not just memes, shitposting, coomer threads etc. people would actually listen to stuff, give recs, do tournaments, discuss their journeys traveling in new music territories etc. its kinda sad that it was basically the only place serious music discussion happened on this shitty board. sometimes people try to revive it but it hasnt been successful
Luke King
the first little kid was kinda classic dailycore
Nathan Smith
it was active for like a month last year and that was really nice.
Carson Robinson
man i got invited to the discord thing but it was just completely different and not for me. like once in a thousand years someone posts and album and someone says "oh yeah "guy xxx" likes it too" and then its 99% inside jokes and random everyday shit not saying thats bad, more that daily never moved anywhere, it just died. discord daily isnt daily, its completely different
Isaac Flores
discord is just a glorified twitch chat
Mason Thompson
it does feel that way
Jackson Cox
anyway wtf are you listening to
Matthew King
yea it is a bit. i use it still but its not the same as old Yas Forums daily. and yea a lot of the users are different but a few of us crossed over. ppl still discuss music a lot and take and give recs. and at least theres not bigotry and overwhelming shitposting like Yas Forums
user I've been listening to Logic Songs more recently and i keep walking away from it inspired. How did Kenny Boothby manage to recreate such a magical album? It's the ideal bedroom project imo
This is a fair summation. I love the lads in the discord but i just have no desire for the bants. But when it came to bants, i for sure have never found a group of people funnier than them, including SDC's discord room
>bigotry Are you talking about any views contrary to pro-homo/trans culture? I think we need to find common ground in the music we love. That's always been a reason i never felt comfortable staying in the discord. I've never shied from my views and since multiple /daily/ users were progressive and fell in that camp, having anything other than a mutual love for music felt.... Betraying.
Cooper Bailey
yes im talking about transphobia, homophobia, racism, and misogyny that are rampant on here
Ryder Reyes
I really like that Tipographica album
Easton Sanders
yeah man it was wild. I don't think I've ever heard jazz rock played so abstract but so tight. their rhythms were alien. gotta get more of their music
Nolan Gray
This is a difficult situation to be in. Any intellectually honest person would admit the possibility of homophobia and transphobia being immoral. Since art attempts to reflect inner convictions at times, the discussion of these subjects is bound to come up eventually, with the possibility of glorifying a lifestyle that's contrary to pro-lgbtq views. I hope that when that time comes we can discuss it civilly, which is something I've come to love /daily/ for
But for what it's worth, Yas Forums has always come across as friendly to the lgbtq movement
Jayden Jones
>But for what it's worth, Yas Forums has always come across as friendly to the lgbtq movement seems like it has reversed in the past couple years. these young'uns aren't very inclusive. idc personally, I habitually ignore any politics here
Tyler Scott
Thank you graphy
Do you have an AOTY?
Sebastian Harris
i haven't listened to anything this year besides the listenalong when this leaked. it was really good so thats my aoty. 1 out of 1. whats yours
new chart. smaller >Kolya god I wish i found these guys in high school. I haven't explored much emo but this hits all the kinsella sweet spots. the lyrics tend to over-extend but the band's energy is great. >Unrest solid 90s indie, a little stones-influenced. the whole racism concept was poorly done and the the songs that rely on it suffer from that. still a decent album though >the moving parts features half of mission of burma and half of birdsongs of the mezozoic. its clear that the band couldn't coexist as one, there are so many styles thrown around here its ridiculous. still an enjoyable hodgepodge of sexually frustrated new wave
listening to vinyl williams rn and its prety damn bland
