Its a Sunn Model T preamp with switchable/bridgeable Normal and Bright channels. It also housed an EQD speaker cranker originally, but I've been trying out different OD/Fuzz/Boost/Distortion circuits in front of it for the past few months. I built another one for our bass player, and he uses it directly into the return of his head, bypassing his amps preamp, and it sounds fantastic. I like to run this one into the front of a slightly broken up amplifier. It responds really well to pick attack and gives you more control over EQ.

Thanks man. I enjoy building pedals and amps in my spare time. Its relaxing/rewarding and saves me a ton of money. If I want to try a pedal, ill breadboard the circuit. If I like how it sounds, I'll build a vero board circuit and box it up. If I end up not liking it, I can still sell it for 4X what I have in it while allowing the buyer to get a clone of a pedal they've been wanting for about 1/5 of what an original costs. Here's a Pharoah I finished up a while back.
