Now that the dust has settled, can we all agree that this is his best record so far?

its the most bland shit i've ever listened to. He's literally catering to stoner zoomers who use tame impala's music as backgrpound noise while they 420 blaze it

This shit is if Currents was elevator music and didn't have a single good or catchy song on it

i don't like the idea of making sequels to albums desu, so it's kind of dissapointing

Easily his worst album

no, it's even more boring than currents

It's fucking terrible.

>blandest thing you've ever listened to
lucky you've never listened to the avalanches then

>imagine having such a shit taste

It's about a 7.
So shit for a Tame album.
Kevin you need to jam more with people ffs. The best ideas usually come about from jamming with mates.
This feels like a record made without a single hour spent in rehearsal. That might be completely wrong btw, but that's still how it sounds.

What's worse is that throughout the tracks are typical Kevinisms - where you can tell he's still got ideas somewhere.

By far. I get bored with it. I never got bored once with the other albums.

imagine thinking the slow rush is bland

It took 5 years too. That wasn't a good sign 2bh and this sounds like he had trouble making music. I think 90% of great artists do this at some point. Even Paul McCartney had blocks after the Beatles right up to Band on the Run.

What's weird is that Kevin, the hook genius, made an album with forgettable hooks.
Is he just getting bored or something?
If your shit is getting boring, then throw it all and do something ridiculous and dumb.

Ram is amazing bro

Yeah this is a bait thread
You're probably high and thought that this was incredibly genius. I don't even like the avalanches, you're just really fucking obvious.

Ok, the Who then after Quadrophenia.
They're not all going to be zingers, but if you don't pump out music regularly your brain gets mould on it. Kevin Shields struggled to get out of blocks for a long time because there's this pressure of beating what you've made.
In reality, your better off not thinking about past shit.

What's that? I don't remember that album.

This album was a self aware poop. He knew he was having issues.

I still like it but it's easily his worst and I hope Kevin knows this so he has some awareness/motivation to recapture the heights of his first three albums.

Avalanches suck but so does the album user

Half the tracks are about it bruh.
As soon as I saw the track list I thought "oh no" because 5 years is a looooooong time.

what is the currents ball doing there

I'm just glad Kevin is finally no longer constipated.

It's at least as good as Lonerism and a little better than Innerspeaker. Way better than Currents which was hot garbage.

Lonerism > Innerspeaker > Currents >> The Slow Rush

das it mane

That's Innerspeaker

i personally like it, but yeah its a low point for Kevin

I cant imagine what it feels like to have musical block like that though, plus all the equipment he lost in the fire

The Slow Rush = Lonerism > Innerspeaker >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Currents
