I have never gotten rec’d in a soundcloud thread
Other urls found in this thread:
ill give u feedback rn if u want it
post your fucking soundcloud then so I can listen you stupid bastard
yea same post it
noone really listens to or truly recs in those threads. if you click on the songs all the comments are from other esoteric artists that haven't figured their own stuff out yet. it doesnt translate into actual fans or genuine listens.
this. I hate that culture so much I don't know why people participate in it
i have a couple fans and i am a fan of the couple dudes there. it's only really a select few in the shadows secretly flexing on the bedroom pop and ambient plebians
I listen and I rec the stuff that I like. Not exactly would call me a super fan of them but I listen to their music every couple of days.
maybe make better music?
>ambient plebians
so far from what i've collected is that ambient just means long droning piano chords with bird and rain samples. Also, No percussion. wouldn't want people to realize you cant record any live takes to a beat, or actually write a song or something.
don't have to be piano per say, you can use synths too, but the lack of a beat is true yea. and the lack of any simple smidgen of songwriting. it's idiotic. at least in these threads with the amateurs. I like steve roach for example. that dude has some chill stuff
This. There's some genuinely good stuff in those threads, but the majority of it isn't stuff that I'm going to obsess over or put in my top music of the year list or anything. But that's fine because I assume the majority of the artists there are beginners or still in the early stages of their project. The ones who have been around a while and actually have fully produced albums stand out a lot, but also don't really need to be there at that point.
IMO it's just a nice little community where you can share and give constructive criticism and occassionally find something that is genuinely impressive.
>IMO it's just a nice little community where you can share and give constructive criticism and occassionally find something that is genuinely impressive
until the clown comes, yea
How long has he been around anyway? I didn't really start posting in the SC threads until last fall but I didn't notice him and his obnoxious posts until a few months later. Maybe I just saw his stupid pictures and instinctively scrolled past his posts at first though.
He's like the only one that actually gives feedback and that kinda stinks cause half his shit just boils down to straight up bullying or pseud advice.
Stfu dubbi

Honestly, it just comes down to making better music and engaging with others.
this. I have gotten a few follows from guys here and followed a few that I like. Imaginary Larry by Gabe Gilleland on SoundCloud is a song I've been bumping a lot recently. Just gotta find the people who are actually about it.
checked and effort-pilled
I just make music as a hobby. It's fun and I like it when people like what I do, but I just like having fun with it.
it's not about 'a few follows'. it's about people whose every track I seem to like and they comment and rate my shit. and we chat.
it's about a community / making some new musical friends, not about 'follows' i have over 500 follows and that mostly don't do shit. it's those 5,10 people who always engage with your stuff
he literally has copy paste answers that don't pertain to the posts he replies to
but mostly they actually work and that's the genius of it
damn even dj dubbi and imbred get reccs thats cringe bro
yeah, I agree.
not really, he's sent me the same "critique" twice that has literally nothing to do with my project or my style.
Im cool enuff to have gotten a few recs, it's hard to share your music sometimes. People really dont like listening to whatever ur makin sometimes and music has a stigma to it unlike some other forms of art. Like you could make a student film or some gay shit and ask a friend to watch it and they would love to. And you could paint an amazing painting and people would look at it and appreciate it. But for some people music just doesnt click right and sharing your music is considered shilling unlike when you share your other forms of art around. Best advice is dont stick to these sharethreads like glue and share it with ur real friends too. Music is hard to share and thats just a reality bruh bruh. Good luck
was it lofi or bedroom pop or sadboy shit?
also, I said 'mostly'
no it wasn't. it was an upbeat, 180bpm fun song.
Make your post interesting. Avoid the following example

Make your posts interesting. Add some spice. Give the viewer incite. Write a small description of the track and the story behind it, and give the greentext some kick. Try something like this

>Peaceful Serenade
>Beautiful Atmospheric Ambient
>Reminiscent of a Dream
I made this track while high on bath salts. I recently visited my alt-right rally and decided to try and encapsulate the overall vibe and experience I had there. This is my 27th track so far, and also the best yet. Hope you enjoy!
